The 10 Best Stealth Games for the PS4

We’ve had some great stealth-based games in the past few years. Some of them made it to the top of the charts while some just really didn’t make the cut. But which ones are the most loved and successful of them? Today we will be counting our picks for the 10 Best Stealth Games for the PS4.

10. Thief (2014)

Thief is one of the most underrated stealth games. It was released back in 2014 and was not able to attract as many gamers as anticipated, but this game has absolutely phenomenal gameplay backed with an amazing story. Thief
requires you to have a lot of patience – from waiting for the right moment to slip through the holes when guards are not looking, to stealing gold from right under their noses. Thief has its own pros and cons and I think the developers had the potential to make the game even greater than it already is – you may find a few bugs in the game that should’ve been solved but, still, I think that Thief is truly one of a kind. If you love playing stealth games, then make sure to check this game out!

9. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (2017)

The sequel to Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is an absolute beautiful open-world game that offers an amazing nemesis system and a lot of memorable battles. Obviously, you can play this game in stealth mode, but that decision is all up to you. You can either take them down batman style or face them like a dwarf by sticking an Axe right in their faces. This game has a lot to offer with tons of features that you can unlock by playing different challenges and levelling up throughout the game. You can even create your own forces by wiping the minds of enemies and recruiting them for yourself. If you love slaying enemies into pieces through a mix of combat tactics, then you’ll love this game.

8. Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)

When it comes to the best stealth games, you can’t do much better than a Batman game. Batman: Arkham Knight was released in 2015, and it told a dark and more detailed story of Gotham city with a host of new enemies. This game has everything, from beautiful slow-motion stealth takedowns to blowing up drones with the Batmobile in tank mode. The overall gameplay has much been improved from previous versions, with new mechanics and techniques. Batman: Arkham Knight offers some scenarios where you can team up with Robin, Nightwing, and Catwomen and take down some of the city’s bad guys. If you’ve played the previous games of the Batman franchise, then you’ll definitely enjoy every minute of this game, but this game appeals to newcomers, too.

7. Watch Dogs (2014)

In the past few years, Ubisoft has made a huge contribution to the open-world genre, and among them is Watch Dogs. This game was released back in 2014 and made a huge name for itself. Watch Dogs follow the story of a hacker named Aiden Pearce who messed with the wrong type of people and then suffers the consequences in his hometown of Chicago. Watch Dogs is, indeed, one of the best open-world stealth games, and it allows you to hack into almost everything. Most of the story-mode missions are stealth-based, you can barge in with loads of weapons and different type of gadgets, or you can simply sneak in, hack the system and get out. This game has almost everything that you can expect from an open-world game – traversing the landscape on different modes of transport and discovering new areas to explore. If you are looking for a real story-driven stealth game, then this might be the choice for you.

6. Sniper Elite 4 (2017)

Sniper Elite 4 is another great tactical shooter game with a lot of stealth elements, played from a third-person perspective. When the player shoots an enemy using a sniper rifle from a long distance, the X-Ray kill cam system will activate, in which the game’s camera follows the bullet from the sniper rifle to the target, and shows body parts, bones or internal body organs being broken or ruptured by the bullet, similar to the kill cam system used in Sniper: Ghost Warrior. Sniper Elite 4 provides a whole new experience with tons of new crafts and skills. One option allows you to lure enemies into different types of traps. The graphics and mechanics of the games have been much improved from previous instalments, and the game is really well optimized. If you want to face enemies in a more traditional FPS format, it won’t be a problem for you as your character has access to a lot of weapons in his inventory. But if you prefer to operate in stealth mode then this game can be quite challenging. If you haven’t played this game yet, you must check this one out!

5. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 (2017)

Looking for an FPS stealth game? You got it! Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is one of those few games that completely rely on stealth mode and, once you’ve been discovered, you’re a dead man. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 offers different types of skill sets that you can unlock by progressing in the game. The developers made a lot of changes in this game when compared to the previous instalment. Now, you can attach number of gadgets to your sniper rifle and even change the skin of your weapon. Some gamers faced a lot of frame drops and shuttering while playing the game but, other than that, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 provides you with a unique experience that you can only get by playing this franchise. Ro conclude, if you love enjoying first-person shooter games then you will enjoy every minute of this.

There’s nothing quite like a Tomb Raider game. Rise of the Tomb Raider is one of the most stunning games from the franchise, with its vast, beautiful world and engaging storyline. Rise of the Tomb Raider
follows the story of Lara Croft’s adventure set mostly in and below a remote, snowy section of Russia. As you play, Croft learns new moves and abilities, all of which integrate fluidly into the gameplay. You can sneak, shoot, climb and craft your way to victory, and you can even fire arrows into walls and climb them! If you haven’t played any of the Tomb Raider games before, then you may find Rise of the Tomb Raider a little complicated and challenging – if you got stuck at any place it may take hours before you figure out how to progress. Technically, Rise of the Tomb Raider isn’t a stealth game (it’s more typically accepted as an action-adventure survival), but stealth is such a massive part of the game that it’s quite hard to ignore its brilliance.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an open-world game set in 431 BCE. The world is vast and stunning, and the gameplay feels better than it has in many of the previous games in the series. The combat is challenging, but engaging, and you can always go for sneak kills to make life easier. The inclusion of choices, both big and small, impact the story and creates a much deeper and interesting narrative experience. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is enriched with stunning sceneries and battle scenarios between Spartans and Athenians. For the first time, Ubisoft introduced two different characters and storylines, which you can choose at the start of the game. Ubisoft also delivered a more RPG progressive system than previous instalments, ranging from dialogue choices to a skill tree that can augment your stealth abilities and other combat attributes. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is one of the most admired games of recent times within the gaming community and sets a new bar for upcoming games in the series.

uge development in the last couple of decades but, still, it’s a little difficult to find a game that is 100% stealth based. One such franchise that offers you such type of gameplay is Hitman. No doubt, Hitman is the best stealth game out there. Much like previous instalments in the series, the story of the game highlights the role of Agent 47, a genetically enhanced assassin, as he travels to international locations to eliminate specific targets. Each episode is more of an open-world sandbox environment where players will have to explore, infiltrate, eliminate a target, and leave without being noticed or killed.
