We will be visiting Anaheim with an almost 3 and an almost 5 year old - which park has the most suitable rides and entertainment for kiddies of that age? We probably will only do a one-day visit.

Thanks!

Disneyland if you're only going for one day.

Welcome to forum posting Janette H,

Thats kind of a hard question now, since they have added all the new things to California Adventure Park including the new Carsland which has amazing theming from the "Cars" movies. If your children are big fans, its worth the visit just for that its done so well. The lighting at night on the Mountains ect is well worth the visit just for that. And there are lots of small childrens rides as well as the little Mermaid ride.

So as you can see, you can easily take up 2 or 3 days at Disneyland, which is usually suggested for a visit since there is so much to see and do. But as suggested, if you only want one day, its usually suggested to just visit Disneyland Park, as there is plenty to do just in that Park for at least a day or more.

Are your children Pixar and more current movie fans or are they into Disney classic movies. Disney California is more Pixar and has the bugs land with 4 children's rides and splash park. The outdoor redwoods park has slides, tire swing, lots of rope bridges, and caves. Paradise pier has several rides that are easy for kids: golden zephyr, jelly fish ride, toystory, little mermaid (can be scary with the big Ursula). Monster inc ride fun and the Mickey dance show is lots of fun. They also have Disney jr live show.

Disneyland has toon town and the Tom sawyer/ pirate island for play time. Fantasyland Is all of your classics. Depending on your kids they may be to dark and a little spooky. My kids were afraid of some of the characters. The Winnie the pooh ride and character meet and greet is amazing. Watching your child hug pooh will melt your heart.

There is a lot of choices at both parks. If you can find time I recommend both parks. If you can only do one day pick the park that your children will be most familiar with, Classic Disney or Pixar Disney?

Disneyland.

Get there early in the morning, at opening.

Disneyland, it is the original and has all the classic rides. California Adventure would be great if you had another day or so. Check on www.disneyland.com and plan out some rides. I would head to the park before opening time and wait on Main Street for them to open, then head right to Fantasyland. Do those rides first, then branch out.
