The Victoria Tunnel is a preserved 19th-century wagonway which was later converted into a WWII air-raid shelter. The listed structure runs under over two miles of Newcastle upon Tyne encapsulates a wealth of local heritage.
Today, people can book Victoria Tunnel tours, tap into its history through school visits or online learning experiences, and even ‘visit’ the Tunnel from anywhere in the world through the Virtual Victoria Tunnel Experience.
