Easily the best restaurant in town. The atmosphere can be pretty noisy in the evening, so we like to go early and sit at a small two-top on the bar side. The service here has always been fast and friendly. The food is very good, which takes time, so we normally order an appetizer. The stuffed mushrooms are a favorite. For entrees, l have enjoyed Steak Walter, Chicken Nora and various nightly specials but my favorite is the Pasta Clarence. The chef always goes the extra mile to make each dish visually appealing and the entrees are a balanced meal on their own. Old Dutch is an excellent restaurant.

Enjoyed the character of this place. Lots of beers on tap, both local and import. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful service from Nicole. Good food--we had the shrimp salad with Mayfair dressing and stuffed mushrooms.

We ate at Old Dutch Tavern today for the first time. Nolan and Nichole were outstanding! The Dirty Wings were to die for...a must try! We also had pastrami sandwiches on rye and a Shrimp Po'Boy. All were excellent. Also beyond delicious were the sweet potato fries with a light dusting of brown sugar and cinnamon! If you're in Washington, you must go here!

First thing: this place MUST do something about the acoustics. WAY too loud for the modest amount of customers in the dining area. You have to almost yell to talk with the people sitting right at your table. I can't imagine how it is on a busy night.
Second: I ordered the scallop entree, got three only, and they were each only the size of a quarter. The bacon wrap makes it bigger, but let's be honest: nobody cares about the bacon. We want the scallops. And only on a bed of cheap rice? Get real...
The beer was cold, though. Also, the taste of the food was alright. I would come back, but only when the acoustics have been improved. But I probably won't get scallops. I heard the burgers are good. - Bob H.FL, FL11135164/15/2016
Upon arrival, we found an exceptional hotel! Freshly renovated, clean, excellent service, and a friendly staff; everything we were hoping for! Really love this place!

The Old Dutch is a nice little bar with an old feeling thanks to the refurbished decor to make it look like it did 80+ years ago. The beer selection is wonderful for craft beer fans, probably the best in this town.
I enjoy their burger, which come on a warm ciabatta bun. The burger is think and properly cooked. My husband likes their pot pie or cobb salad. Service has always been decent and good too.
The only reason this review is not 4-5 stars is because the noise level at this place is out of control on a weekend evening. Most recently, we went at 6:30 on a Saturday and while waiting for a table we decided the loudness was not the kind of experience we wanted that evening so we left to go somewhere quieter. The tin roof combined with wood floors just makes the sound bounce all over the place. They really, really need to consider installing some acoustic panels or something, because it was almost hurting my ears that evening. We've learned our lesson: go for lunch or go during a weekday when it's less busy so we can enjoy our meal and not have a shouting fest. - Jen L.Bella Vista, AR71095110/26/2015
We stayed at the old Dutch tavern this weekend. The room itself was nice but small and clean. The only thing was the showers design caused water to almost Always run on the floor.
Noise levels from across the hall were annoying from a bunch of girls for a wedding party who couldn't figure out how to properly close their door even after they left.
Complimentary BREAKFAST was quite possibly the most disappointing thing I've ever seen. For a $145 room I expected to have a hot breakfast bar not a get your jimmy dean sandwich out of the freezer and microwave it. bagels packaged in ziplock bags. Juice cups with foil that you'd see in a hospital. I mean come on! What the heck! And it was all located on the lower level basically the basement. The setup was bad it was split to both sides of the room. Awful. Disappointing. We will not be back. - Jeff M.Dallas, TX0557/29/2018
Hotel Review: Great location, wonderful town, boutique?? Not so much.
On our way back from Chicago to Dallas, we usually stop in Rolla. But the Microbrewery I wanted to visit was closed on Sundays so I found this place. Being a fan of little off-the-beaten-path hotels, I got a queen room for ~$100/night -- about the going rate for places like this. Tonight, except for us, it appears empty. And the Tavern, with which they are not really associated, was likewise closed, which made me nervous until I found the side entrance to the hotel. The rooms in general are small, with space for a bed, a suitcase rack and a bathroom. There is one side table and enough outlets to charge all your devices. WiFi is free. The bathrooms are compact but more than sufficient. Our room was air conditioned by a wall-mounted unit that made enough of a whirring noise as to require earplugs to sleep. The bed was comfy. There is no fridge but there is an ice machine in the basement, where the complimentary breakfast is found. When I've had breakfast, I'll update.
Based on a cursory look around on a Sunday night, Washington is an old town that has held up extremely well to the ravages of time and the swings of the economy. The old waterfront is extremely well maintained and a great change from the typically down-on-their-luck small midwestern town. And yes, the train still comes through here. - Gavyn O.Union, MO0176/10/2018
The old dutch was an amazing experience, the prices were amazing, and the food was phenomenal, and the people were amazing, we did have a little trouble with the carry out sides, but they resolved the problem without a question. The kitty cocktail that I got was nothing short of the great food, overall an amazing experience
