The Skyline Hotel & Waterpark, while lauded for its family-friendly atmosphere and prime location near key attractions, receives mixed reviews on its rooms and value. While some guests appreciate the spacious accommodations, others express concerns over outdated conditions and maintenance issues. The hotel's lively nature contributes to noise complaints, yet the service is often highlighted for its friendliness. Although reviews vary, the access to a waterpark and free parking are notable amenities that guests enjoy.

Overall, we had a good time. Although the
place needs updating and the carpets need to be changed. The only upside is the location is great and it’s in close proximity to Clifton Hill and the falls, and the walkway to the falls is temp controlled. It would be best to go to nearby restaurants since Perkins is too expensive with underwhelming food.

We enjoyed our stay in the family bunk room with 3 kids (6 & 8) and 2 adults. Room was perfect for us but the layout of the building and lack of signage could be improved. We were there for the water park and thankfully went in off peak days otherwise I imagine it would be a nightmare. We went on a Sunday afternoon and Monday, the first day back to school after Christmas so water park wasn’t busy with maybe a 2 minute wait for any of the slides.
When we arrived at 2:30 Sunday it was a bit difficult to find 2 vacant chairs together but by 4 pm place had cleared out and was very enjoyable. Snack bar is expensive but so are all the restaurants around the falls.
We went to eat at Perkins after our time at water park on Sunday and found the restaurant closed shortly after 7 pm. So much for kids eat free after 1. We ended up at Hard Rock Cafe and spent a fortune. The next day we decided to eat breakfast at Perkins before the water park but didn’t by the $40.00 pkg. What a mistake. Our bill was $108.00 so beware!!
There is a mandatory resort fee with booking and parking which is just over $20.00. You have to move your car to the other lot by 12 noon checkout day but they don’t charge you.
All in all it was enjoyed by all but the food bill was more than we bargained for.
I would return but definitely buy the breakfast pkg and check to see what time Perkins closes or order pizza and eat it in the nice courtyard.

We stayed 3 nites to cap off a family vacation. Was attempting to save over the great lodge competition. Generally it was ok. Water park was ok but aging. Wave pool broken and not disclosed at booking. Hours of water park were ok. Always very busy all hours as you are sharing it with 3 other hotels. Portions of the soft flooring were already peeling in the water park. There was only one operating shower in the change room. Park was so busy it was a 20+ min wait for the most popular slides.
In room coffee was delicious and beds were comfortable. Rooms were small and the courtyard unusable in the mornings as it seems parents just send their kids out to burn off steam while they do whatever. At $300 a night for a basic room I wish I didn’t need to walk 2 minutes to a microwave or ice. Uber Eats was a godsend as well as there is no room service.
Location to Clifton Hill is great. Staff were very helpful with daily deliveries of towels and bottled water. Also request a cot and crib upon arrival with prompt delivery.

Damp, smelly, needs a huge refresh.

Upon our arrival to our first room, we were greeted with a waft of the most horrible smell when opening our door. Unbearably awful. And as many rooms face into the horribly dingy courtyard, there would have no window to open. I walked directly to the phone and requested a room change. The woman was very helpful and they quickly upgraded and relocated us to an outward-facing room which also had a bunk bed.

The room smelled somewhat better but was still damp. I felt just a bit unsettled during our whole stay because I wasn't convinced it was clean. All of the furniture, the curtains, the bedding, etc. seemed like it had been used and reused and reused for decades. The towels are so thin and are like sandpaper. The bathroom fan is loud and is on all the time. We kept that door closed. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner and blow dryer because although these are supplied, they are not good. The interior courtyards are awful - stains on all the furniture, faded carpets, meagre and sa -looking plants.

The location is convenient in that it's close to Clifton Hill, etc. but you have a bit of a strange walk through parking lots, etc. to get there. The most efficient route might be to walk through the parking garage across the road, and walk through the Crowne Plaza and Sheraton Fallsview as there is a indoor path that leads you to the hill and toward the falls.

The waterpark was quite fun. Numbers were limited due to Covid so there weren't significant line ups on any of the slides. There is so much for all ages and for all levels of bravery. The wave pool is not wavy due to current Covid restrictions, and it was a bit too warm for my taste. But the kids enjoyed it quite a bit. We would return to this water park but not stay in this hotel again.

Kristin B, Firstly please let me apologize to you for the conditions of your stay while you were a guest at Skyline Hotel & Waterpark. There is no excuse for a terrible smell in the room, our standards of cleanliness indicate that each guest should be presented with a clean, fresh stay with no visible signs of prior use. Your bedding should be fresh and towels should be relatively new as we do purchase large amounts of inventory continuously throughout the year. Our laundry is sorted daily and old or tattered items are discarded. We are very sorry if this process has somehow failed us, and as I almost never view complaints indicating as such, please know that I have begun to review our procedures to ensure they are being followed properly. While I am glad that you enjoyed our location I sincerely hope you spoke to one of our Guest Service Managers so as to have this rectified for you and your family. I am again very sorry and hope to change your mind about us one day in the future.

When we arrived the check in process appeared to be simple. Park in the registration parking lot, check in, take your bags to your room then move your vehicle to the multi storey parking lot…but there are only 4 very narrow spots in the registration area leading to a very backed up lot and lobby.

Heading up to the room numerous guests were not wearing masks. In fact, considering we are still mandated to wear masks for covid I was very shocked that the majority were not wearing them.

Upon entering the room we immediately noticed the dust that lined the table and picture frame, clearly not cleaned well. The room itself is extremely outdated.
I cannot fault the location, access to Clifton Hill and the Falls was great, but other hotels are just as a accessible but much nicer, as noted when walking through them to gain access to Clifton Hill!

Our first night we noticed the noise from the courtyard. The following morning I was woken at 6am by the giant who was stomping around above our room. And now all night I have heard further stomping, running, slamming of furniture from people in the rooms over the top of us and the courtyard. The walls appear to be paper thin and the floors/ceilings aren’t much thicker. Creaking floorboards and loud water pipes aren’t much to get excited about either.

We booked the water park tickets alongside the hotel booking and were equally disappointed when the time slots for covid were no longer necessary and the water park was over crowded and masks did not appear to be required! Needless to say we did not use it.

We chose to spend little to no time, aside from sleeping in our hotel room aside from sleeping, but as mentioned we will not stay here again. I recommend that you use the large amount of money you take from your guests and do a complete upgrade of the hotel, it has the potential to be great.

We are very sorry to read about the details of your stay and apologize to you for the disappointment which you and your family experienced. We understand that our parking lanes and lobby can become overcrowded during heavy arrival times. We can not control how many families arrive and when they arrive but we do our best to mitigate traffic as much as possible. Skyline Hotel & Waterpark does have a mask policy in place, to which we have over 30 signs throughout the hotel to remind our guests of this. Our staffs and management will approach any and all persons not wearing masks and ask them to replace their mask however staff presence thins at later hours and one staff member can not force individuals to wear their masks. We are very sorry about the noise disturbances during your time with us and I agree that this is very unfortunate. As a note to other potential guests, please phone us for any such noise disturbances as we do have security available to deal with such situations. Please know that our security department was involved as was Police however even so it took law enforcement several hours to deal with this rowdy group. We are sorry to read that you will not be staying with us again and assure you that we will use your comments as a training tool to offer other future guests an improved experience. Again, we are so sorry and thank you for your TripAdvisor review.

We were lead to believe this was a modern and clean hotel with good amenities and access to the rest of the shops and restaurants that are part of the Sheraton and Crown Plaza. Our room smells like stale urine, the carpets are filthy especially in the common areas, the ‘promo’ where kids eat free at Perkins and the Fallsview buffet is bogus - it is available all the time, but only during very specific and inconvenient times, there is no early access to the water park and there is no access to the restaurants and shops before 11am or after 7pm (you can only get there through the waterpark and it has ridiculous hours). To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We have cancelled our second night here and are going to Great Wolf Lodge. The waterpark was equally as disappointing. I will never stay here again and I advise you against staying here as well.

On the plus side the location is decent. You’re within short walking distance of a lot of the local attractions.

That’s about the only good thing I can say.

It’s a family hotel, so if you worry that your loud, rowdy kids will keep the neighbours awake at least you won’t be alone. The rooms open on to communal indoor courtyards, where screaming children run wild well into the night. You can hear them clearly as you try to sleep.

The line for check-in (or to talk to anyone at the front desk) often results in an overflow right out of the cramped, dark lobby. The desk was perpetually understaffed and the lines were slow moving.

We found a better hotel down the street and checked out a day early.

Front desk staff has A1 customer service hands down ! We arrive at 1:30 PM expecting to have to wait till the 4:00 PM checc in .. NOPE they checced us in at 1:30PM no extra cost or nothing the room was clean it did have a little weird smell like water that’s been chilling in a dark place but I believe that had to do with the water park. The beds were clean, carpet was clean, courtyard was clean 9 out of 10 for the cleanliness besides the weird smell definitely 10 out of 10. Parking was free for our Friday to Sunday stay, location of the hotel is good for sure, everything is literally in walking distance about a 20 minute walk to Fallsview Casino and Niagara Casino is right outside. We checced out this afternoon and wanted to walk down to the Falls and go to a couple more attractions before the drive home and wanted to leave the car for like an hour… we were good to leave it there until midnight lol. Overall experience 20/10 i will definitely recommend Skyline Hotel to my peoples and for the price of it all I am recommending Skyline to whoever is reading this

We are pleased that you found our location convenient, with attractions such as Fallsview Casino and Niagara Casino within walking distance. Do not book this hotel! Absolutely unacceptable customer service. We booked this hotel and water park one week before our stay, but when we arrived we were told that we cannot use the water park (even though the water park was open, the skyline inn simply overbooked it) . If we knew that we won’t be able to use the water park we would never consider staying there and would plan our long weekend differently. Our vacation was completely ruined and we had to leave the hotel and go home. Thank you Skyline inn, we will never be back!

We are so sorry to read about your negative experience at Skyline Hotel & Waterpark. We are dismayed that you were unable to attend the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. As much as we understand the situation, we can not always foresee how many swimmers are in each room. We did send out time slot bookings for each guest and then further advise guests on that day to book as soon as possible as we knew the bookings were filling up. Unfortunately due to COVID19 we are allowed a maximum of 50 persons in our swimming area at one time and can not make exceptions. We look forward to the day where these policies are no longer necessary thereby avoiding such unfortunate circumstances. We look forward to changing your mind about us in the future.

I give this place a 3.. The location Is ideal because it's a short walk from Clifton hills but far enough not to be exposed to the noise made at night. Perkins restaurant next door has excellent food and the hours and location are great as well. The hotel, however needs to be updated. It appears they've installed new carpets in the corridors but the furniture in the Courtyard's indoors are stained as well as the carpet. The mattresses in the rooms need to be updated and the air conditioning unit was rather loud and the toilet made a lot of noise. Now anything we asked for the staff would have provided to us and we're excellent. they're customer service is 5 stars. However nothing can change the things that I've mentioned until they have it replaced. It appears to be an older hotel that is in need of an update. On a side note due to covid 19 We called ahead and were informed we would be able to use the pool in the Sheridan.. However when we checked in we were told that that was not the case. A suggestion I would make would be to ensure that anything else related to restrictions be updated on the website.

We are sorry to read about your experience at Skyline Hotel & Waterpark. Please know that Skyline Hotel & Waterpark is the recipient of regular upgrades and updates. While we understand that some areas could be temporarily unkept because of our extreme level of business, know that this is not our standard and these items will be rectified very soon. We do have a bed change out program currently in effect and all of our end of life mattresses are cycled out for new mattresses routinely. Please know that based upon your recommendations we are performing a website audit to ensure all information is corrected and up to date. We are happy to read that you enjoyed our great location and our friendly staff. We look forward to welcoming you back soon and rectifying the details you mentioned in your review. Thank you again.
