- MytakeonthingsGlasgow, UK77 contributionsMy daughter and I took the 4 hour trip on our first full day in Salzburg. Glad we went then as we revisited some of the spots afterwards.
It was a well organised, well paced tour , full of lots of information we didn't know about the making of the film.
The bus took us out of the city to see some of the coutryside associated with the movie - that was great to see as we'd have most likely not gone as far on our own.
We also visited Mondsee to see the church that Maria and the Captain got married in - a beautiful town with a fab coffee shop, a perfect stop off point.
David was a fun, welcoming and very informative tour guide , who had us all singing to the soundtrack of the film - that was good fun!!

Our tour guide was Shiva, he was great full of knowledge giving us all the information we needed to make our day interesting. He listened to what we would like to achieve and helped us do this where he could. He was so friendly and his minibus so comfortable.
This tour was great, we were a-bit dubious about salt mine but loved it. The views from there are incredible. Halstatt is not to be missed. Shiva stopped so we could take photos when we asked. St Gilgen lovely too.
Shiva also gave us advice and info on what to do when in Salzburg.
We would highly recommend Edelweiss tours you won’t be disappointed. Do the Halstatt and salt mine and also do The Bavarian Mountain and lakes tour, with Edelweiss tours too this includes Königssee(kings lake) boat trip was amazing and Hinterslee lake was stunning and we also went up a cable car to the very top of mountain - great views.
All the places we visited on two full day tours with Edelweiss tours Salzburg were amazing and the company picked us up on time from our hotel. Communication with this your company was so good.
We would highly recommend them without hesitation.

I would ALWAYS recommend her for any tour. She takes her job seriously and makes it seem effortlessly.

The views were absolutely breathtaking and the village of Hallstatt is quaint and gorgeous. Big shout out to the lovely Leopold who was our tour guide. I was lucky enough to travel in his mini van rather than the big coach - purely out of chance! Leopold was informative, knowledgable and hilarious. His passion and love for his country shone through! 🇦🇹 he even took us out of the beaten track to the glacier in the Alps which was a beautiful surprise! - BlondeAdventurer1London, UK232 contributionsGreat trip, with a couple of quick photo stops of beautiful scenery along the way! Salazburg is beautiful, the Mirabell gardens where scenes from Sound of Music were beautiful, and Robert gave a highly detailed explanation of everything on the tour. Wear comfy shoes as the walking tour is about an hour and 45 mins and if it’s sunny bring your sun screen! You then have 2hrs 15 to explore yourself, and do as you please. Robert’s recommendations helped me devise an itinerary of what I wanted to do as we walked around, in my free time I went to the food market and enjoyed sitting in the sun by the river, went to Mozart’s birth place, strolled around the gardens again and visited the wine bar next to them. Another traveller said they went up to the art museum where you can get great views of Salzburg which also looked awesome.

- Ken G4 contributionsAwesome performance- loved it! Such a small venue, every seat is good. We were able to see expressions on the performers faces - each perfectly in time with the music. The gentleman who was the highlighted cello player was amazing, not using any printed music. The venue, of course, was beautiful and so special as well. The rule was no photos during the performance, only before and after - unfortunately, not all guests followed this. There is also beverage’s available prior to the concert and at intermission. And lockers available for backpacks. We were dressed very casual due to having had an excursion all day long. But others were as well, so we felt ok about that.
We highly recommend this opportunity!!

We are not very familiar with classical music or opera but we were still blown away by the performances! Having the performers move throughout the dining room makes the experience very intimate and special. Without the separation of a sound system, you can really appreciate the raw talent of the singers and musicians.
We had the pleasure of seeing Niccola Ziccardi and Donata Meyer-Kranixfeld, both of whom amazed us with their stage presence and musical talent.
The food was delicious and the service was quick and attentive. The performances timed out perfectly with each course of the meal. We had a private class for our family of 7 due to it being an off season. We enjoyed our evening learning to make authentic Austrian dishes. Johann was a great instructor, he was patient, knowledgeable, and answered any questions we had! We made pretzels, dumplings, and apple strudel. We enjoyed our meal while listening to live opera music performed by a soprano that goes to the school of Mozart. The opera singer was friendly, interactive, and so talented!
