Travel Well: Covid-19 Information

MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED AT SFO AND ALL US AIRPORTS REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS!

Face masks are still required for air travel, including at airports and onboard aircraft. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Order and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Directive require that facial coverings are properly worn over your nose and mouth in all areas while at SFO. Failure to do so may result in removal from SFO, denial of re-entry, and penalties for non-compliance.

We’ve created a special video about the importance of wearing masks and staying safe. Visit the Mask-On-SFO page to learn more about the making of this video.

We're excited to welcome you to SFO! If it’s been some time since your last trip through our terminals, you’ll notice the protocols and health measures we've put in place to keep you traveling well. We’re pleased to share that these efforts have earned SFO an Airport Health Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI) World, a program that evaluates new health and safety measures and procedures introduced at airports worldwide in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more about the ACI Airport Health Accreditation.

Before you travel, find out about current procedures and tips for travelers. Please also be sure  to check for up-to-date COVID-19 travel advisories, testing, quarantine, and other requirements at both your destination and upon your return. We’ve gathered links to helpful information at our Resources for Travelers page.

Need a COVID-19 test to travel? SFO offers testing at two locations in the terminals, as well as an on-airport drive-through service. Visit our COVID-19 testing page for the types of tests offered, turnaround times, and how to book an appointment.

When you get here, our SFO community will be ready to serve you. We offer a range of food options that are fresh and locally-sourced, specialty retail shops and passenger services, airline lounges, and our on-airport hotel, the award-winning Grand Hyatt at SFO. Learn more about what’s currently open.

Still have questions? We’ve established a 24-hour COVID-19 travel hotline to answer your questions and to hear about any health measures or practices that aren’t meeting your expectations. Our hotline is available by calling 650.821.8205. Or, use our online form to submit your questions or comments to our Customer Care team.
