The long-anticipated second installment of Ryan Murphy's Feud series is nearly here: Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, based on Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer, premieres tomorrow night!
The show, which stars Tom Hollander as Truman Capote, Naomi Watts as Barbara "Babe" Paley, Diane Lane as Slim Keith, Chloë Sevigny as C.Z. Guest, and Calista Flockhart as Lee Radziwill, follows the fallout between Capote and his beloved Swans after an excerpt from his book, Answered Prayers, is published in Esquire.
“It was a story about ambition, friendship, and writer’s block,” Ryan Murphy told Town & Country in our October 2023 cover story. “It was a story about how you top yourself, and whether you even can. And it was, at its core, a story about relationships between men and women, specifically gay men and their girlfriends. A feud is never about hatred; a feud is about pain, always. For the show to work, there had to be a great split that was about heartache as opposed to hatred, and Babe and Truman were at the center of that.”
There are eight episodes in the series, and the show will air on FX on Wednesday nights, and stream on Hulu the next day. (For cable, if you have DirecTV, FX is channel 248; on Dish Network, FX is channel 136; on Verizon Fios, FX is 53, or 553 in HD.) According to Hulu, FX episodes will be available on Hulu by 5:01 a.m. eastern the day after they air on FX, so you can expect new episodes to stream Thursday mornings.
