Chelsea loanee making an impact

Ruben Loftus-Cheek came off the bench today to make a telling impact for struggling Fulham, who almost pulled off a two-goal comeback against Everton.

Less than 10 minutes after arriving just before the hour-mark, RLC would win a penalty by bamboozling his defender with a turn in the penalty area. Unfortunately, Fulham would miss the penalty.

So RLC took matters into his own hands the next time. He may have gotten a bit lucky with the deflection, but they all count the same, especially for someone still recovering from a massive injury. This is Ruben’s first goal since scoring in the 2018-19 Europa League semifinal against Eintracht Frankfurt 18 months ago.

Fulham would still go on to lose 3-2, but it’s lovely to see Ruben back in the goals and making an impact. He’s started just 2 of the 5 games since joining Fulham, the first two, but did come off the bench in the last two. Hopefully this performance will lead to more minutes indeed.
