The 2020 Jets are doing all they can to be remembered as quite possibly the worst team in the history of the National Football League. They lost 24-0 to the Dolphins Sunday to fall to 0-6 on the miserable season. They are now on pace to be outscored on the season by more points than any team in NFL history. To make matters worse, the Jets have the Bills, Chiefs and Patriots coming up on the schedule. To talk about this mess, Brian Costello and I bring you a brand new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast, featuring an interview with former Jets offensive lineman Willie Colon.

I open the show ranting about my frustrations with how inept this team is and why Adam Gase needs to be fired already. It’s only going to get worse as the team continues to lose and Gase has done absolutely nothing warranting him keeping his job. The team once again did not compete Sunday in Miami and could not score. It took 50 minutes for the Jets to finally convert on a third down. It got embarrassing to the point that down 24-0, Tua Tagovailoa came in with a few minutes left and was throwing the football. Ryan Fitzpatrick was on the sidelines laughing and pumping up the crowd as the Jets had a butt interception to show for it, which is fitting for a team that has played like crap all season. We get into the usage of La’Mical Perine, who played more snaps than Frank Gore, but struggled in pass protection. Coz gives out a few stats as to why this Jets team could actually be worse than any NFL team ever. We discuss the Adam Gase-Gregg Williams comments and Coz believes there is no way Williams could even coach this team at this point on the interim tag. We also get into the Jets trading Steve McClendon to the Bucs, Le’Veon Bell’s perfect situation with the Chiefs and how things could somehow get even worse in the coming weeks.

Former Jets offensive lineman and radio host Willie Colon then joins the pod. Colon talks about the Jets’ struggles, the games being hard to watch, Gase not being put in a great situation and looking back to his 2014 Jets and what goes on inside the locker room of a bad football team. Colon also talks about why it would be hard to fire Gase right now, the “Fire Idzik” signs in the sky in 2014 and the intriguing topic of culture, which the Jets have not had, but his Steelers did, with whom he won a Super Bowl. Do you draft Trevor Lawrence and trade Sam Darnold? Colon says he would be fine with it, but feels bad for Sam and worries that he will turn out being great somewhere else. As a fellow Hofstra alum, I also get into Hofstra football memories with Colon, trying to get the program back and how things are more bleak than ever in Hempstead these days.
