You have to trudge up some serious steps, and when you get there the nave is behind locked gates and unlit, but it is a beautiful, small church, and the views on the way there of the old city are great.

We were passing through here on our way to the fort and with our Salzburg pass we decided to pop in (fee is €2 otherwise). You have to climb steep steps to get to the top and the view is great. Inside there isn't much to see. I wouldn't say I recommend it as there are much more interesting things to see in Salzburg. The cemetery outside the catacombs (which you can enter for free) is absolutely stunning so I would say, save your penny and just walk through the cemetery.

I like these weather stations/clocks a lot. I love looking through all the data on them. Many of them are very interesting. This weather station in Salzburg in black and gold design is situated just a short distance from the main square. It is located in a small area where there are also benches, so you can sit down, relax and view this interesting attraction.

Man on the golden globe or sphere, monument close to the funicular terminal Festungs bahn was somewhat puzzling as it was rather difficult to figure out what it depicted. Curiosity was helpful to learn about its origin and learnt that it’s called “Sphaera” and was the result of an art project called “Walk of modern art” in 2007. The creation by a German sculpture. Man was facing the fortress, not showing any emotions on his face. Just gazing, I believe watching what was unfolding every second in front him.

Last Saturday, July 21, 2012 we spent the afternoon at the Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg. In order to buy postcards, we stepped into what was thought was an adjacent shop but which turned out to be the gift shop of the Baroque Museum. At least this was open on a Saturday afternoon. Not much else was. Though we were able to pick up an assortment of postcards as a booklet or two, we were unable to communicate with the attendant behind the counter about the admission fee for touring the museum. It amazed me when touring Austria and Germany how much trouble we had communicating the with the locals because we don't speak German. Fortunately I got a peek at the paintings through the glass doors.

If you are looking for Austrian-style clothing at less then shop prices in Salzburg, then head to the Moser Outlet at Bachstrasse 34. Moser has a beautiful shop in the centre of Salzburg on the Herbert von Karajanplatz, but head out to the Bachstrasse for some definite bargains!
A large part of the shop is given over to the most wonderful selection of materials to buy by the yard, everything from silks to woollens, and everything is of first class quality. I could not believe the prices of the materials here. The assistants are also very helpful and made sure that I had all the smallwares required to finish the waistcoat I had planned, even down to the buttons .For anyone who enjoys dressmaking, this shop is just heaven on earth!
The shop is easily reached by taking a no4 bus from the Mirabellplatz. There is also a bakers shop/café nearby which serves excellent refreshments after a busy time in the outlet.

This is a trip back into the past and into the bowels of the mountain to experience something of what life might have been like for the miners hundreds of years ago.

The underground tour lasts for about an hour and involves walking and clambouring through the tunnels and chambers that the miners used. You need to wear warm clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and some strong shoes or boots - you walk through the original mine workings, which get lower and narrower as the tour progresses. It begins to bring home the reality that was life in the Middle Ages, when adults and children toiled for very little reward and died, broken and diseased, at a very early age.

You need to be reasonably fit and agile in order to take the tour as the tunnels are no higher than 1.40 in places and very narrow - the miners didn't waste time and energy on unneccessary digging. The mine is not accessible for anyone with an impaired ability that prevents them from climbing and is definately not for anyone who suffers from claustrophobia. Some comments on here have complained about this, but it is really the point of this mine - it has not been sanitised and made accessible and you have to deal with the same conditions that the miners experienced. Just remember that you will spend one hour in conditions that the miners had to endure for 12 hours a day, and you will be fairly relaxed; they would have been digging and moving rocks and earth for 12 hours in the semi-darkness and in foul air.

We had a brilliant and at the same time sobering hour at the mine, and it was ideal for a rainy day activity. The tour was conducted in German, but the guide tried to answer questions in other languages - most of the commentary was fairly self-explanatory. I imagine that visitors who don't understand German would gain more from the tour if it was conducted in other languages (English, Dutch, Danish etc) but much of the experience is the unnerving feeling of being underground.

Salzburg is a beautiful city. I did have a problem with strolling geitridgasse street, and with the half a day organized trip to hallstt.
Hellbrunn schloss and gardens is a MUST.
Keep in mind that shops in salzburg close at 18:00, and restaurants and cafes close between 18:00 to 20:00.

We were here for a skating competition. We thought the food available was pretty good with multiple options between the in rink snack bar and the attached restaurant. There were definitely not enough bathrooms for the capacity of the arena and this was one of the coldest rinks I've ever been in so layer up and bring hats and blankets etc.

Super cool VR feeling at this place.
We played the game 'the prison' and it was just hilarious and a bit creepy. Exactly what we wanted to play.
    The staff was really friendly.
They even got beer in the waiting/preperation area :D

Beautiful location, great view of the villa. We didn't do the tour, so you can't go inside the house, but you can walk around the lake and see the exterior at the back. We walked here from the castle, which was a bit of a hike through a field/park. I have seen other reviews where people took a taxi. After having done the walk both directions, I would probably pay for the taxi if you have the funds.

This statue can be found in a few places Europe, we saw its like in Prague. It is done by the same sculpture Anna Chromy. It is the love that we gave, the suffering we bore and is a cloak of conscience. Its a bit morbid looking but its a very good sculpture.

This statue is rather large and located in a nice place. I’m not a huge fan of statues but this is a nice one. And if you are walking to the churches you will see it.

Wonderfully ornate baroque features, this Kajetanerkirche Church in Salzburg showcased.
Makes a beautiful back drop for photography.
