Bring good shoes because you will want to see everything and it’s lots of walking. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Spring time is beautiful with all of the flowers and trees blossoming.

The forty or so minute tour really makes you appreciate the effort it took to get the building built, but at the same time recognizes that it was built at a different time, using different labour laws and taking advantage of a native family. The free tour is worth every moment. The gift shop is also well priced and has some good food offerings. This is a self guided tour a d the garden in front is beautiful. Nice place to visit and spend 2 hours or so. I’d love to see the area on a weekend when there would be many more people and businesses open. It was a quiet Wednesday when I was at FW, we enjoyed the views and uniqueness of the area. Here, only you and the ocean before your eyes are real, Everything else doesn’t matter at all. It’s been a month since I have taken a break from my classes, works, and the only chance I have got, didn’t even think twice to have a long drive of 300km, just to visit this beach, and after a long, hectic journey I have made it here and it was worth it. - Micha SEverett, WA3 contributionsHighly highly recommend this place! We went as a family of four with two young kids and had such an amazing time. It’s great for all ages. My kids were entertained as many booths were interactive with buttons to press, and my husband and I were just in awe of how spectacular the displays are.
It was educational and you see history unfold as you walk past the booths and see what life looked like in different eras. Then there’s the fantasy / fairy tale sections that were just amazing and worth geeking out on.
Many places you go once and call it good with no plans of returning to make time for other touristy spots to visit next time to come back - this wasn’t one of those for us. We fully plan on coming back and taking friends and family with us when we return to Victoria. We can’t wait!
