Make time to go visit. This hospital built in the 1400s. Very interesting. The audio tour is presented as if you are talking with the wealthy couple that funded the construction. A fun POV. If you bring children, there's a special audio tour available for them. Very enjoyable .

The Musee des Beaux-Arts de Dijon has free admission, but just for the permanent collection. If there are special exhibits you will have to pay an entrance fee to see them. This is a moderately sized museum that you can tour within a few hours. Medieval art dominates the collection though it is balanced out by other time periods. Be sure to check in at the front desk as they want to check your bags and add which country you are visiting from into their database.

Special trip with my parents who had been here 10 years ago and wanted to return as part of their Diamond Wedding celebrations. Excellent attraction showing the building of the castle by brilliant artisans using medieval techniques. The signage is excellent and the signs easily translated using a suitable app. The ones explaining the techniques are the best as give a real insight. The site is manageable even for those with restricted mobility although care needs to be taken on uneven paths and the winding staircase!
As a first time visitor I was captivated by the way Guedelon is constructed and will certainly be back to see the progress in a few years time. Would highly recommend to visitors of all ages.

A very nice restored/preserved Abbey. Very interesting to be able to visit the site and contemplate how the community of monks would have lived.

Great historic basilica with a perfect location on top of the village. To get a full and complete experience try to attend a classic catholic mass.

This is a beautifully destined semi-circular square with plenty of history (e.g. its name has undergone many changes throughout history.) If you can manage it visit on a Sunday afternoon/evening as the locals come out to fill the seats in the restaurants and bars which are located on its periphery.

This is not a castle tour. It's a museum that happens to be in a castle. My son loves aircraft and cars so he enjoyed all of the exhibits. The castle is in poor condition. There are a few areas that are staged as they would have been, but that's the exception. If he hadn't been with me, I would have skipped this one.

The facade of this église is covered in rows of decorative (not gargoyles...can't remember the correct term...but those). Worth passing by!

We were 6 adults, 3 children of 3 years old and a baby. We took a full pass to all activities in the parc. Great combination of activities for both adults and children. There’s also a lot of space in all areas (we had a rather big stroller) and it’s very cool inside so good for hot summer days.
    Personell was really very friendly!
The children also enjoyed it: the story of winery told in a playful way, all parts of the museum very interactive and attractive for children as well. Some parts are like an attraction parc, and we did not even have to pay for the children. The little train brings you to the garden, where there is also room for children to participate in the activities. We had a very pleasant day and were all very tired at the end of the day (you spend a whole day there). Food at noon was very good and not expensive at all. Also good facilities for children!

It is not the kind of place you plan a trip to do - but if you are in the area it is well worth visiting. If nothing else a good opportunity to walk off some of those glasses of wine that you probably have been enjoying if you are an adult.
The weather was not great when we were there, but it was still a most enjoyable walk up and down.
Depending on age and fitness I say you need 45 minutes at least to really enjoy your walk up and down.
Parking available at the bottom of the rock.
If you are there with children you need to be aware that there is absolutely no fences or anything around the edges at the top. It is a walk that children can do, but keep them at safe distance from the edge.
Very nice view from the top.

Stunning setting and lovely courtyard - Some excellent exhibits. You appreciate the power of Dijon in this region from learning about the dukes.
