'Kong: Skull Island' News: New Behind-the-Scenes Details Revealed

On Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, cast members of "Kong: Skull Island" gave fans a sneak peek of the set, allowing for viewers to have a closer look at the beautiful scenery that will be featured once the movie releases.

According to Variety, several cast members were featured in a clip during the big event wherein they introduced fans to the beautiful but dangerous world of Kong, the keeper and god of an undiscovered island.

In the video, Brie Larson who will play the role of photojournalist Weaver, explained that the film features explorers who will come across an unfamiliar island. "The film is about a group of explorers who set off on an adventure to a previously uncharted island," she said.

Tom Hiddleston, who will play former British SAS Officer Captain James Conrad, added that the exploring team will soon discover that the island is inhabited by "strange new creatures, mythic beasts that come into the midst, and they have to get off the island alive."

He also said, "Kong appears in this film as you've never seen him before," giving further clarification about the rumors earlier that the famous "King Kong" might not be the film's focus.

As fans already know, the upcoming motion picture will be centered on the origin story of King Kong. Deadline's report in September 2015 states that the plot seeks to honor Kong's legend but it will be set in a different time period. While some fans were initially worried about how the King of the Apes will be portrayed, the most recent footage has already received a thumbs-up from potential viewers who are looking forward to the movie's release.

John Goodman, who will play the role of Randa, the expedition's leader, has joined the cast last year and though not many details have been revealed about his character, it is expected that his performance will add more spice to the story.

Directed by John Vogt-Roberts and delivered by Legendary Pictures, "Kong: Skull Island" is slated for release on March 10, 2017.
