Notes

• The No. 2-ranked Wolverines are in search of their second straight and 12th overall Big Ten championship this weekend. U-M is the lone remaining unbeaten team in conference play, needing just one win to clinch at least a share and two to win the title outright.

• Michigan will honor its senior class of Jaedan Brown, Gala Mesochoritou and Kari Miller prior to its match on Sunday (April 21) against Nebraska. The trio has combined for 85 dual-match wins entering the weekend, two Big Ten titles (2021, 2023) and a pair of Big Ten Tournament titles (2022, 2023).

• U-M has won 20 consecutive matches against Iowa, shutting out the Hawkeyes last season at the Varsity Tennis Center. U-M has not allowed a point to Iowa in the last three matches between the teams.

• The Wolverines are 11-0 all-time against Nebraska after recording a 4-1 win in Lincoln last season, winning four singles matches after dropping the doubles point.

• Michigan reached the 20-win plateau with a pair of wins last weekend, entering the final weekend of regular-season action with a 21-3 overall record. U-M now has 14 20-win seasons in program history, with 12 of those campaigns coming under head coach Ronni Bernstein.

• Michigan has won 13 consecutive matches, marking its longest winning streak of the season. Dating back to a 4-1 win over NC State on Feb. 22 to kick off the streak, Michigan has four wins over ranked teams and has surrendered just nine points to its opponents.

• U-M has won 26 straight Big Ten regular season matches after sweeping a pair of road matches at Wisconsin (April 12) and Minnesota (April 14). U-M's last Big Ten loss came to Ohio State on April 1, 2022.

• In U-M's nine conference wins, Michigan has allowed only five points to its opponents and never more than one point in any contest. U-M dropped the doubles point to Maryland and Purdue, with Ohio State, Michigan State and Minnesota (retirement) each taking a singles match off the Wolverines. Michigan is 33-3 in singles action in Big Ten play, led by 7-0 marks from Mesochoritouvand Piper Charney.

• Miller is 28-7 overall in singles and 13-4 at No. 1. She is up to 93 career wins, becoming just the 13th Wolverine in program history to reach 90 wins. With two more wins, she will break into the top 10 in Michigan history without even playing a fall season during her freshman season.

• Brown is closing in on becoming a member of the 90/90 club, entering the weekend with 87 singles wins and 87 doubles wins in her career. There are seven players in program history with at least 90 singles and doubles wins in a career.

• Charney and Miller lead U-M in overall singles wins, each racking up 28 wins this season. With two more wins, they can join the 30-win club. There have been 24 instances of a Wolverine winning at least 30 singles matches in a year in program history. Brown is the only current Wolverine to reach the mark, winning 30 singles matches in 2022.

• Michigan has six ranked singles players in the latest rankings released by the ITA on Tuesday (April 16).  Miller stayed at a career-high No. 3 in this week's rankings, with Julia Fliegner (No. 24), Mesochoritou (No. 56), Lily Jones (No. 85), Charney (No. 116) and Bayley Sheinin (No. 121). Brown and Miller come in at No. 6 as a doubles pair.

• Singles play has been strong for the Wolverines in dual-match action. U-M is 80-23 in singles play, good for a .777 winning percentage. Charney (17), Mesochoritou (16), Jones (14) and Miller (13) have each reached double-digit wins in dual matches. All nine Wolverines have picked up at least one singles win in dual-match play.

• Michigan is 16-0 when winning the doubles point this season and 5-3 without securing the match's first point, getting wins over No. 15 Cal, No. 5 NC State, No. 8 Pepperdine, Maryland and Purdue after falling in doubles play.

• Next up, U-M will host the Big Ten Tournament (April 24-28) for the first time since 2011 and for just the third time ever. Admission to the five-day event is free.
