Pros
The company really put the effort into employee's career and DE&I.
Cons
Slower promotion path. There are no strict rules on how many years of experience to gain certain title.

Pros
Compensation and benefits are great. Depending on the department, ownership of responsibilities is a positive, and collaborative environment. [Most] employees are nice, kind, supportive, and reasonable. Beautiful and well-kept office space.
Cons
It's changed in recent years and it's more of a top-down management style now. It doesn't always feel like doing the right thing, but rather the quick thing or even "because I said so." Also, it doesn't always feel like there is room to grow. People stay because of the comp and the culture is still better than a lot of other places, but upward mobility is a challenge. Sadly, diversity is not a priority, in spite of some changes in 2020. It's clear that Capital is not committed to advancing DE&I within its own leadership team, manager level and above, or within the portfolio managers/analysts.

Pros
~2 bonuses a year! ~No matching on retirement/401k because they place 15% of base+ OT in Retirement account for you annually. ~$200 per month paid directly on any college school loans you may have. ~Kind and respectful managers ~Tons of vacation (3 1/2 weeks to start), sick and all major holidays plus Capital Group is closed when the stock market is closed. ~Work from home Mondays and Fridays! ~Wonderful training ~$500 on 1st check for at home office set up and supplies ~$3,000 gross for referring someone that gets hired. Paid 1st check after they start. ~Community involvement that allow time away from work not just Saturdays. ~2X match for donations for organizations that you are passionate about.

Pros
There’s a lot of good in Capital Group, particularly compensation, but underlying that is a harsh environment and zero loyalty to their Associates.
Cons
I kind of hinted at this in the pros, didn’t I? The worst part is if you stay too long you become less desirable at other places.
- 2.0Cient Service SpecialistCurrent Employee, more than 10 yearsIndianapolis, IN
Pros
I appreciate the retirement plan benefits of 15% of my salary, medical benefits, being able to work from home 2x a week plus away for office 5-6 times a year. Great benefits for 5,10,15,and so on years, extra vacation, charity bonus, gift, and money for party.
Cons
The company is not the same since coming back from Covid. We are more focused on numbers. People are still not interacting as the once did. Training is now mostly online, no hands on until later on. Hard to learn while trying to focus on computer screen, while everyone else is talking on phone or asking questions about work or personal conversations. Depending on who and how long the manager has been with the company could depend on your growth or lack of growth within the company. There are not many upward movements positions, there are across the board opportunities, to expand your work knowledge. Some managers are not able to help you get better at your job based : they have too many responsibilities to have time to really figure out the problem or ways to help each person individually. No sure how you can excel at DE&I unless you are on the committee that runs it. Just being an allie, now not enough.

Cons
Too much work sometime leading to burnouts
- 2.0AssociateFormer Employee, more than 1 yearLos Angeles, CA
Pros
Some people are helpful in your journey at the company. Others are less helpful and selfish in their ways (subtle and at times blatant but it's there)
Cons
A lot of office politics, no real sense of leadership among middle management, everyone is cramming to appease senior leadership. DEI is just a check in the box. No real sense of work life balance when they expect you to be available at an immediate notice outside regular work hours.
