IGN stands for Imagine Games Network it was created on September 1996

and  publishing executive Jonathan Simpson-Bint and began as five individual websites within  Imagigine Games  N64.com (later renamed ign64.com), PSX Power, Saturnworld, Next-Generation.com and Ultra Game Players Online.

IGN's real headquarters is in Brisbane, California.
