The 9/11 Memorial is a poignant and moving tribute to the 2,983 souls that were lost on Sept 11, 2001 and during the WTC Bombing in 1993. The 2 large pools sit at the location of the north and south towers of the World Trade Center. The names of the victims are inscribed on the walls of the monuments. There is also a museum that costs $33 to enter but a visit to the memorial pools is free. This is a sacred site and while a visit here can be quite sad, I believe it is something that all first-time visitors to NYC should experience.

Free ferry ride providing brilliant views of the Statue of Liberty. Having done this before the trip is as good as we remember. Also paid for a trip out to see the Statue on a previous city visit. This free trip was just as good. May be a little crowded

Sadly, no fault of the attraction itself. We had $285 in tickets with zero visibility minus the clouds moving randomly. I would suggest waiting until the night before or the day of to purchase your tickets for this attraction because if it rains or has fog issues, you’re not gonna be able to see anything and I know the view would’ve been stunning otherwise. Now graciously, they offered us to move our ticket to the next day but unfortunately, we only had one day in New York and couldn’t do that. At 10:30 AM a lady spoke on one of the observation decks and gave a lot of information about New York and the different things you could see and things you could do. She did a really good job and was very informative. So I highly recommend hanging around and listening to her talk. I’m sure they probably do this several times throughout the day but we happen to be there for 10:30 speaking.

Very sombre garden of remembrance for the 9/11 plane crashes. All the victims names are engraved on a square parapet round a sunken pool.

This is an incredible piece of history and so emotional.
The only building in the area to escape with no damage not even a broken window.
Such a focus of sanctuary on that terrible day.
So much to see and absorb , well worth paying for a tour so you don't miss anything.
    Wow !

We visited this on March 7th and were blown away by it. We done the museum and it is a very eerie feeling down there. Knowing what happened that day and the lives lost. Listening back to family audio of loved ones who were lost in this tragedy.

The overall experience is worth visiting and you can spend hours on end here, listening to the audio alone is heartbreaking.

    Definitely worth a visit

One World Trade Center is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex that was attacked by terrorists on 9/11. It stands on the site of the former 6 WTC building. It is the tallest building in the United States and in the Western Hemisphere. At the base is the poignant and moving 9/11 Memorial and there is a terrific 3 story Observation Deck on the 100th-102nd floor offering incredible views of the city.

Close to the Twin Towers memorial. Historic church amongst the modern city buildings. Striking and historical. The cherub gate will please east Enders.

Transportation Hub in Lower Manhattan serving both the NYC subway and PATH trains to New Jersey with some of the most impressive architecture found. Known as The Oculus. Great spot to get some amazing photos.

Walked to Wall Street and the Financial District whilst visiting the 9/11 Memorial. Subway station also nearby. The Stock Exchange is a very impressive building and the bull and the girl statue is also worth a photo opportunity. We went in peak Summer so was very busy with tourists but that can be expected. A lot of interesting architecture and sculptures around the area and definitely worth having a walk round and exploring if in that part of the city.

Significantly smaller than the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC, but we're still glad we visited this NY museum as well. Since tickets are free, it's a great deal in the city. Our favorite piece was in the rotating exhibit on level one (we didn't see anyone else down there, so make sure not to miss it!). Level two had a lot of representation of tribes throughout the Americas, but at a very surface level. They did a great job, however, of digging into the NY tribes.

Incredible architecture in this high-end shopping mall at the World Trade Center complex. The stores and restaurants are in the structure otherwise known as The Oculus. Well worth passing through even for some photos when visiting the 9/11 Memorial or One World Trade Center Observation Deck

The Wall Street Bull or Charging Bull is a symbol of Wall Street and the New York financial industry. I would certainly not make a special trip to see it but if you are nearby in Lower Manhattan, it makes for a good photo stop. Beware there will be a long queue waiting to get a photo with the bull. Best to just snap one and move on to more interesting things.

This is a surprising little street, if you are wandering around in the Wall Street concrete canyons. It also has bars and restaurants that are both easy to visit and very picturesque looking. It's only one block long, or so, so it's just a quick part of your visit, but if you happen to be a block away, you'll find it a good place to take pictures.
