Do you have this issue on the released version of Windows that was installed on
your SB3 when you purchased it? For issues using Insiders Builds, you should
post in the Insiders Forum and use the Feedback Hub to reports problems. We only
support the released versions of Windows in this forum.

hi,

glad i found this topic.

i have exact the same problem with exact the same configuration for Surface Book 3 (I7 /16 Go RAM ) but NOT running the insider build.

System is up2date.

Having extreme issues with my SD-card slot.

Cannot find the sd-card drive anymore on the next day.

No chance to read the card on SB3 but on any other machine it works correctly...

i also have the problem with a unknown driver in device manager:

Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

May we have  broken devices?

best regards,

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q Design
running win ver 1909 (18363.959) (not an insider build)

I have the same problem

I have:

run the sfc and scanhealth  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Check windows update
Update drivers and firmware https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=101315

reset windows and done a factory reset

I have discovered it only happens when on battery and the battery life is terrible only getting 5hrs

not impressed with my brand new expensive surface book 3

Same for me with my 8 days old Surface Book 3 (i7-1065G7 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660). From the event log I can see that these errors have been traced from the moment I started the surface the first time. So seems to be an "out-of-the-box" problem.

Windows Update does not find any new packages, DISM /RestoreHealth and sfc /scannow done, checked for the latest driver version, Surface diagnostic toolkeit fix feature executed.

Is there any further advise ?

Hi everyone,

though l had checked driver and firmware versions I reinstalled them from the current download at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=101315 (7/2/2020) yesterday. Since then these events do not occur anymore and battery definitely lasts longer.

hi everybody,

i faced the same issue and also had problems with the sd-card slot which didn't recognize any sd-cards anymore.

Microsoft exchanged the device and actually the new SB3 is working fine.

The error doesn't occur anymore.

best regards,

Same issue on my Surface Book 3  i7-1065G7 / 16Gb / 15" model

Running latest version of Windows 10 Home, version 20H2, 19042.610.

Core issue with my Surface Book is the volume up rocker button on the tablet works fine from a cold start and then activates the up button (without been touched) and then does not respond thereafter.

If you reboot the system, it boots UEFI as it believes the volume (+) up button is been pressed.

A full power off and power on results in the volume (+) up rocker working for a short period, until the issue re-occurs and the volume (+) up comes on automatically and stops responding.

I'm about to return the tablet part to Microsoft, but as this appears to be related to a software issue i'm feeling pretty annoyed at buying a premium product and now i'll likely be getting a refurb item sent back to me!

Any last minute ideas before I send it to Microsoft...?

I've already done the below:

  • Windows Updates, no new packages
  • DISM /RestoreHealth
  • Full factory reset
  • sfc /scannow
  • Installed the latest surface book drivers:

SurfaceBook3_Win10_18362_20.083.37048.0.msi

Cheers,

James
