It’s kind of left open to interpretation. Some say it’s them being stuck in a time loop, some say it’s them being transported back to the moment right before the accident to continue on their new chosen deaths, some say that it’s them passing to the ‘other side’. It’s very purposefully left open so that fans can interpret it in a way that is meaningful to each individual fan
they just passed on to the other side.
I don't think it was them getting revived because Ricky still can speak, so they're probably still in the afterlife
