Roman Pearce has been a member of the Fast & Furious franchise since the saga's first official sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious. The character, played by Tyrese Gibson, starred in five installments to date, and in that time, he's driven a slew of noteworthy cars. Roman was initially depicted as a childhood friend of Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), but in time, he became a loyal ally of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the rest of the crew. Gibson reprised his role in the most recent sequel, F9, which released in June 2021.
Brian reunited with Roman in 2003's 2 Fast 2 Furious for an undercover sting operation targeted at a Miami drug lord. Roman had a history of stealing cars, and he was under house arrest when he made the deal to help his old friend despite the grudge he held against him. When Brian needed help in taking down a corrupt Brazilian businessman in Fast Five, Brian enlisted Roman. The figure then took part in subsequent worldwide missions due to his knack for driving and his skills in manipulating others with his fast-talking ability.
While it usually seems like Roman agrees to the missions for the money and cars, he has remained extremely loyal to the crew. Unsurprisingly, Roman immediately agreed to assist in the search for Mr. Nobody before the investigation led to a battle against Dom's brother, Jakob. Gibson will likely return for the tenth and eleventh franchise installments, which will serve as the two-part Fast & Furious finale. Until then, here's every vehicle that was driven by Roman in the film series thus far.
1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
When Roman made his debut in 2 Fast 2 Furious, he was participating in a demolition derby while under house arrest. Roman was shown driving a beat-up 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was painted black, red, and white. There were even teeth painted on the car's grille. During the derby, Roman kicked out the windshield after it became damaged. Following the competition, Roman reunited with his childhood friend, Brian, before the two engaged in a scuffle. Roman blamed Brian for his legal troubles seeing as he went on to become a cop. Roman ditched the damaged derby car after agreeing to join the sting operation to take down a drug lord.
2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS
To work undercover, agent Monica Fuentes gave Brian and Roman two vehicles to choose from. Roman picked the purple Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS convertible model. While he drove it for a while, Roman and Brian discovered that their cars were equipped with tracking devices. When the two men attempted to lure the police away from their whereabouts, they switched cars during a massive vehicle scramble at a large compound. Suki took the Eclipse and was pursued by the cops since they thought Roman was still behind the wheel. It was never revealed what happened to the car, but there was an assumption that Suki became the new owner. It's important to note that Gibson had a say in some of the Eclipse's customization, and he even paid for the chrome rims out of his own pocket.
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
Since Roman and Brian got rid of the cars previously given to them to carry out their undercover mission, they were forced to acquire back-ups. The pair raced two of Carter Verone's associates, Darden and Korpi, which resulted in the keys to their respective vehicles. Roman took Darden's orange Dodge Challenger, which he then drove to escape from the car scramble at the garage to evade police. Brian had the new muscle cars equipped with half-empty bottles of NOS under the passenger seats to eject the person in the seat. Roman successfully ejected Verone's henchman from his vehicle, but when Brian got into trouble, he was forced to crash the Challenger into a Lincoln to save his friend. The car wasn't completely destroyed, and it was most likely impounded after Brian and Roman's mission was complete.
1999 Toyota Supra MK IV JDM
As Dom and his crew tried to orchestrate a plan to steal the bank vault in Fast Five, they were forced to come up with a way to avoid police cameras. During various street races, the group won the keys to a handful of cars to test out with their own cameras. Among them was a black Toyota Supra, which Roman tested in their mockup track to prepare for the big vault heist.
2011 Dodge Charger PPV
Since they failed to beat the cameras with their own cars, Han suggested acquiring a handful of police cruisers as a way to blend in during the mission. Dom, Brian, Han, and Roman then broke into the police station parking lot to steal four Dodge Charger Police Cruisers. On the way back to their hideout, the four men had a million-dollar quarter-mile race in which Dom let Brian win. During the heist, Roman drove one of the Chargers to prevent members of the police from catching up with Dom and Brian.
2010 Koenigsegg CCXR
After the successful vault heist in Brazil, each member of Dom's crew acquired a substantial amount of money. Roman used his money to buy a black Koenigsegg CCXR, claiming it was "the only one in the Western Hemisphere." When he stopped by Tej's new garage in Miami, he found that his friend had another one of the four models ever produced. Rather than get upset, Roman told Tej that they could "shine together" with their two rare vehicles. Neither one of the cars has been seen since their respective appearances in Fast Five.
2010 BMW E60 M5
To watch over Owen Shaw's team in Fast & Furious 6, Luke Hobbs gave Dom's crew a bunch of BMW M5s. When alarms went off at Interpol Headquarters in London, the group used the vehicles to chase Shaw's team around the city. Roman drove one of the black BMWs, but his car was destroyed, as were all the others except for the one Dom was driving.
1969 Ford Mustang Fastback
While trying to track down Shaw's convoy to acquire a computer chip, Roman used Tej's 1969 black and white Ford Mustang Fastback. When Shaw emerged from one of the convoy trucks in a tank, Roman used his car to slow it down until it fired at his vehicle. He quickly braked, but the car got stuck in front of the tank, causing Roman to abandon his plan. Brian saved Roman just before the Ford Mustang was completely crushed by the tank.
1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
In Furious 7, Mr. Nobody enlisted Dom's crew to rescue Ramsey from Mose Jakande's terrorist organization. The plan involved using cars to jump out of a plane in the hope of surprising the convoy. Roman selected a grey Chevrolet Camaro, which was equipped with large off-road tires and a parachute for the plane jump. When it was time to drive out of the plane, Roman refused to take part, forcing Tej to set off Roman's parachute early. Roman floated in the forest before he could get back to the group.
2011 Bugatti Veyron
Once Dom's crew acquired Ramsey, they needed to get access to the God's Eye program. In order to do that, they needed a special flash drive located in Abu Dhabi. The group arrived in the city with expensive cars as a way to blend in. Roman, specifically, drove a white Bugatti Veyron. That was the first and last time the vehicle was seen in the Fast & Furious franchise.
1985 Chevrolet Caprice Classic
Dom's team returned to Los Angeles, where they faced off against Deckard Shaw and Mose Jakande. The terrorist tried to pursue the group with a stealth helicopter and an aerial drone as Ramsey attempted to hack into God's Eye. While evading Jakande's tech, Roman and Tej were driving a light grey Chevrolet Caprice. It was eventually destroyed after being exploded in the faceoff against the multitude of antagonists.
2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
At the start of The Fate of the Furious, members of the team assisted Hobbs in acquiring an EMP device in Berlin. Dom, Letty, Tej, and Roman used grey Dodge Challenger Demons to carry out the special mission. That was until Dom betrayed his team in order to steal the device from Hobbs to deliver to Cipher. The remaining vehicles were believed to be sent back to the DSS.
2010 Bentley Continental GT Vorsteiner BR9 Edition
Cipher sent Dom to New York City on a special mission in The Fate of the Furious. Dom's former crew decided to try and stop them, but they needed new vehicles. Little Nobody hooked up access to a warehouse of cars, and Roman selected a white and red Bentley Continental. The gang chased Dom through the city before managing to corner him. Despite using harpoons to stop him from escaping, Dom managed to destroy their cars one by one. Roman's Bentley was flipped and believed to be returned to the FBI's impound warehouse.
Lamborghini Murciélago LP640
Before choosing the Bentley for the NYC mission, Roman initially wanted the neon orange Lamborghini Murciélago in the FBI's warehouse. Little Nobody convinced him otherwise, but Roman finally got a chance to drive the car when the gang tracked Dom to Russia. Roman's car fell through the ice and into the water, forcing Tej to rip off one of the Lamborghini's doors. Roman then used the broken-off door to attack Cipher's men on snowmobiles.
2018 Acura NSX
While tracking down Jakob Toretto and his men, Dom's group traveled to Edinburgh in F9. Roman drove Tej into the city in a silver 2018 Acura NSX before the pair parked it in a town square. After following some of Jakob's associates, the pair ended up escaping the area in a magnetized truck with Ramsey, meaning the Acura was left behind and not seen again.
Pontiac Fiero Rocket Car
Roman and Tej first saw the Pontiac Fiero when they met Sean Boswell, Twinkie, and Earl Hu in Germany, where the trio were designing rockets. The group tested their Pontiac Fiero equipped with a rocket, which was later redesigned and used as part of Dom's mission. In order to destroy a satellite intended to be used to implement Project Ares, Dom sent Roman and Tej in space with the rocket car. Though driving wasn't involved, Roman controlled the modified spacecraft in the ninth Fast & Furious movie.
