- 1.0Supply Chain LeadershipCurrent Employee, more than 3 years
Pros
Great brand developed and grown by some of the best professionals - pre General Mills. General Mills has done an efficient job pushing and forcing them out.
Cons
- Billy Bishop is not the CEO despite the misleading presentation here. Blue is on #3 since acquisition. - Innovation is now dead. - Big push on social agendas that seem to permeate everything. - Lots of talk about culture and things like “working with heart” yet rings hollow if you watch actual behaviors.
- 5.0Product Support SpecialistFormer Employee, more than 1 yearHowell, NJ
Pros
If you like pets, you will learn about the best in pet nutrition and you will get to talk to and interact with pet parents through your work in pet retail chains.
Cons
This position is short-term and is really good for extra income. No advancement through this particular position.
- 3.0UX/UI Interactive DesignerCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearWilton, CT
Pros
Great environment to work in, good people to work with.
Cons
Seriously underpaid for my role in my geographical area. Asked to have a discussion with HR about reassessing my compensation and was given the runaround, and told no. I was not even given a chance to argue my position. Terible communication from upper management.
- 4.0Marketing ManagerCurrent Employee
Pros
Lots of opportunities to impact the business
Cons
Lack of strong systems and structure to support decision making and speed
- 3.0Senior ManagerFormer Employee, more than 1 year
Pros
The place provides a good work-life balance
Cons
The leadership team often exhibits backward thinking. It consists of senior directors and managers who have been with the company for many years. While they do make attempts to innovate, they often revert to their traditional methods and seem resistant to recognizing the latest product and marketing trends, leading to outdated marketing plans and creative outputs.
- 3.0Pet Detective/Brand AmbassadorCurrent EmployeeMaryland City, MD
Pros
Great flexibility for a 2nd job.
Cons
The only benefit offered is a 40.00 rebate, which is taxed, on blue products, regardless of the number of years you work for them.
- 2.0Brand AmbassadorFormer Employee, less than 1 yearCollege Station, TX
Pros
Easy Hours, friendly management, fun work environment
Cons
Not ADHD friendly or disability friendly
- 3.0Pet AmbassadorFormer Employee, more than 5 yearsNewport News, VA
Pros
Great job if you like animals
Cons
Petco employees earn more than Blue Buffalo! They tax you on your $40 rebate after you’ve already paid taxes on wages earned and pet food purchased. In today’s economy with inflation over 9% you are literally earning less than you did 3-4 years ago!

Pros
Had a scheduled set of stores.
Cons
A few stores were to slow.
