Wu Lu made his bones in hip-hop and experimental production but this latest record feels like an ode to all things 90's from trip-hop to alt rock like this track: which from the 4:3 ratio, VHS video effect, and storyline involving skateboarders you can almost smell the fresh Airwalks.

Their (Drug Church) sets from Outbreak and Sound and Fury are so damn good

There's alot of 90s alternative peaking up through hardcore right now

Yup. You have Vein.FM doing really vicious hardcore borderline death metal…with a dj and nu-metal scratches, lol. And Turnstile feels like a Foo Fighters opener and I mean that in a good way, they should be playing arenas.

Weird thing is while mainstream rock is dead, hardcore punk and metal have had a fantastic few decades keeping the genre alive and innovating with new formulas. Like its nuts you can argue the shoegaze revival popular nowadays started…in black metal, lol

I like most of the songs posted in this thread, but Wet Leg just annoy me, what with the repetitive lyrics and the "poker face" they make in the video lol. But it's subjective!
