Rising actor Weston Cage chatted about his latest endeavors and being a part of the digital age.

Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote applies to Weston Cage.

Aside from being an artist, he is a recording artist, music producer, and a mixed martial artist.

‘D-Day’

He has starred such movies as “D-Day,” “211,” “Get Gone,” and more recently, “Mojave Diamonds.” “‘D-Day’ was a magnificent experience for me,” he admitted. “It was based on a true story, so to immerse myself in the history of Lieutenant Colonel Rudder, and that particular battle was very educational for me as well,” he said.

“Also, ‘Get Gone’ allowed me the privilege to work with Lin Shaye, and she is such a horror icon,” he added.

‘Darkness of Man’

Cage shared that he did a movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme titled “Darkness of Man,” which was directed by James Cullen Bressack, which also featured multi-Emmy winner Kristos Andrews (“The Bay”). “I love Kristos Andrews, he has such a beautiful soul,” Cage said.

“I also did a movie with western with Danny Trejo and Jesse Kove that is on the horizon,” he added.

Music

In addition, he has scored such movies as “Drive Angry,” “Ghost Rider,” and he will release his album single “The Wolf.” “The song ‘The Wolf’ is going to be released soon,” he hinted. “Some of the last adjustments have been made on the music video itself. We also did the official photoshoot for it, so we are very close in getting in out.”

The digital age

On being an actor and an artist in the digital age, he said, “I am honored to be a part of it even though talent was more valued in the ’80s and ’90s. I’ve been fortunate because I can impact more people with my art thanks to the Internet and other digital innovations. On the downside of it, there is too much frugality in the film and music business right now.”

“To me, art is always the highest form of communication and it should be supported by financial abundance,” he added.

Personal life

In his personal life, he is a father of four children: Cyress, Venice, Lucian, and Sorin. He is the son of Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage, and his great uncle is Francis Ford Coppola.

The best advice he ever received from his father Nicolas Cage

Speaking of Oscar winner Nicolas Cage, Weston shared that the best acting advice he got from his father was “know your instrument and your craft” and “really rely on your own imagination.” “The imagination is where all the greatness and knowledge resides, especially for thespian arts,” he added.

“In acting, my range is my greatest ability and I was able to show that in the movie ‘Assault on VA-33,’ where I worked with Sean Patrick Flanery. I was able to transform my body to the exact physique that was needed for the role, and I was able to disguise my voice and my psychology,” he said.

Ermelinda

Now, Cage is happily engaged to Ermelinda Manos, who holds a very special palce in his heart. “My fiancée, Ermelinda, is the woman I’ve been looking for and my true soulmate. I did a prayer and shortly after, Ermelinda and I became united. I love her beyond the confines of human connection,” he said.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, he remarked, “The Beginning.” “All of the prayers I’ve ever made have truly been answered now,” he revealed.

Jesse Kove

Cage had great words about Jesse Kove, who is the son of veteran actor Martin Kove, and a gifted performer in his own right. “Working with Jesse Kove is extremely nostalgic, our paths crossed in Drama class when we were both 15 years old. It brings up back to when we were doing the play ‘Inherit the Wind.’ When we are together, we are constantly doing our own improv and skits. He is so great and like a brother to me,” Cage said.

Dream acting partners

He listed Sir Anthony Hopkins and Charlize Theron as his dream acting partners. From a directing standpoint, he noted that he would love to someday work with Darren Aronofsky, who is known for the “potent films that he makes.”

Success

Regarding his definition of the word success, Cage said, “Success, to me, is truly to immortalize oneself to create a legacy and to perpetuate a vision, along with having the triumph to have true love and family as well, and be stable there.”

Fans

For his fans and supporters, Cage said, “I am endlessly grateful to them, and I do my profession for them, and I always will. My goal is to bring them catharsis with my work, that’s my purpose.”
