The food at Joseph’s is very good quality, but honestly there is not enough of it. We ordered the two course menu but both courses were small and the short rib main was woefully inadequate in size. The other mains were similar in size so...I can only assume these are normal portions. The other problem with this restaurant was the 3 minute time interval between ordering and delivery of our first course. We had to drag out eating this course and the main and were still out of the restaurant in under an hour. Not the fine dining experience we were expecting. We also ate breakfast at Joseph’s and the same timing applied. We received our coffees after our breakfast was delivered and that was 5 minutes after ordering. On the plus side, the breakfast was excellent.More

My wife and I dined at Joseph’s Restaurant while staying at Lancemore Mansion Hotel. We were greeted with a wave and smile from Victor, our host, as we arrived and immediately knew we were off to a good start. My wife had the Spinach Fettuccine...while I had the 1000 Guienass 280 grams Porterhouse, paired with Run With Bulls Tempranillo. While there were a number in the restaurant, including a birthday celebration, attention to service was “spot on” and when our meals arrived, we were delighted. Simple but delicious meals prepared perfectly! My steak was medium rare, tender and complemented perfectly by the Chimmichurri. After dinner I requested a long black coffee with a Black Sambuca - the Sambuca not being on the restaurant menu. Not a problem for Victor who sourced a bottle without fuss, thereby topping off a great evening. Well done to all involved and thank you Joseph’s for a lovely night.More

We caught up with family for a High Tea on Saturday at Joseph's and it was one of the best High Tea's we have experienced. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff member Saurabh. Once seated we were offered champagne and a selection...of teas. The food was amazing, we had a selection of three sandwiches, three sorts of hot food and a variety of cakes and a plate of scones. We also were offered a coffee of choice. The service was quick, friendly (happy to take photos of our group), and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was easy to have conversations as it wasn't overly packed. For $85 per person it was well worth it. I would do it again!More

Disappointed that we were not told of the extra cost to champagne refills. Waiters came through and poured without letting us know that there will be added costs. A very expensive mistake. Also, one dessert was macho panacotta. No-one on our table ate it or...on any other table. Why serve something that not many people like? Very disappointed.More

The worst high tea we have ever experienced. Waited for over an hour before offered a cup of tea. Then another half an hour before they brought out the tiered tray of a most disappointing selection of pre-packaged offerings. No hot savoury choices. Stale petit...fours macaroons and some sad finger sandwiches. Stale scones (more like rock cakes), with the jam and cream appearing an hour after the trays came out. At $85.00 per person it is a total rip off. Go elsewhere, in fact go anywhere but Lancemore, Werribee Mansion. Try the Hopetoun Tea Rooms in The Block Arcade, they know how to do a High Tea.More

Enjoyed dinner for 2 here recently as part of a dine and stay package. Hard to make a choice in the starters and mains pat of the menu as all sounded delectable. We ended up with duck breast, tuna and then we both had the...magnificent short ribs for mains. However whilst we chose different items for desert, (pannacota and poached strawberries) we were both disappointed. There is a $20 difference between the 2 course cost and the 3 course cost. If I wasn't on a package i would not spend $20 on either of these deserts. Aside from that, the service was extremely good and attentive and we would dine their again without issue, but only 2 coursesMore

Celebrated our anniversary with a lovely dinner here. We had the Flinders Island lamb and the barramundi. both of which were delicious. We ordered a side dish of duck fat potatoes too. It was all served and presented as you’d expect from an up market...restaurant and priced accordingly. Wait staff were friendly and efficient and spot on with our order. We didn’t have to wait for any length of time and the drink staff looked after us very well too.More

We were so embarrsed! As a farewell celebration, we took our visiting faily from Queensland for a fine dining experience. When we saw the prices on the online menu were were shocked, but, remembering the good experiences of the past, we were still willing to...go there. What we were met with was shocking to put it mildly. Gone were the white table cloths and high quality table dressings. Instead, we were presented with well worn table tops, walls that showed signed of damage. The staff were friendly enough, but we had to wait a long time at the reception desk for the manager to appear so we could pay the $700.00 bill for six people. The food was acceptable in the small portions presented, but the dessert was disappointing.More

Loved every minute of my birthday treat last night. We had the six course summer tasting menu and to be honest, every course was sensational. Chef David Green's menu was amazing and I even stepped out of my comfort zone and tried sweetbreads (with freshwater...lobster) for the first time in my life. They were delicious. Richard and the wait team went beyond the pail so thank you sincerely. Very professional and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit. The Mansion is such a beautiful venue and worth a stay too.More

Good breakfast ( Esther at breakfast service was so lovely) but terrible dinner service. This is not a fine dinning venue but they really try to look like one and charge like one. They didn’t have the table ready for the booking, so what’s the...point of making a booking?!. When you arrive they ask you to wait or have a drink at the bar, probably a little trick to sell more drinks. Our table wasn’t ready even after 15 mins. They tell you we’ll come find you when the table is ready, but that never happened. We had to go back and ask. Waitress had some attitude, she was loud and offered us free drinks, whole restaurant could hear her, “do you want a free drink we’re still preparing the table”, which we declined. What a terrible way to offer a complimentary drink! Not very impressed with food, very average. Won’t be back and can’t recommend.More

My wife and I stayed in The Mansion Hotel for 2 nights. We had breakfast here for 2 mornings and had a two course dinner with a bottle of wine here one night. The food is delicious and the service is good. The ambience of...the restaurant decor with the excellent views of the garden is nice. The price of the dinner was expensive but that is to be expected in an upmarket place like this.More

The highlight of our stay at Werribee Mansion this week was definitely the meals we enjoyed at Joseph's Restaurant. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. For whiskey lovers, I highly recommend their take on the Old...Fashioned. For pasta lovers, the fettucine may be one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had - definitely need to try recreating it at home! Thank you so much to all of the staff who looked after us - will definitely have to come back again!More

The 5 course dinner was great, small plates filled with flavour, plus an additional veg dish, we were full after the 6 plates. The brunch package was ok, bottomless cocktails was cool but there was no description as to what was in any of them....The sangria arrived and it was sparkling and fruit - I wouldn't have ordered this if it had a description. The meal options for the brunch were very strange, nothing simple except for the sandwich. It would be easier to just offer some regular meals like the lunch menu has. Breakfast was fine, a regular buffet with a variety of options.More

We had a business dinner for 8 people, we had attentive waitstaff, we were looked after well with the 2 options of eitherc2 course or 3 course and a lovely variety of steak, fish and lamb. There was also an option of cauliflower gnocci vegetarian...option. A wonderful king fish entree that was refreshing light and tasty. My main course was BlueInfinity barramundi with class and a large Prawn. It was delicious! A cheeky Pinot Noit finished off a lively meal in a beautiful setting with great serviceMore

We were advised the day before our visit that the 6 course degustation was not available for us. The dinner menu choices for a restaurant were quite basic. The pork belly chosen was dry and the fish was a degustation size. Entrees were 'nibbles' e.g....cheese's, olives, bread. Bread with olive oil was the only warm choice. It was cold and draughty in the room, which was also mentioned to us by another couple. Included breakfast was of a reasonable standard except for the scrambled eggs which appeared not to be made from fresh eggs i.e. a ready made product. At both sittings noise from the kitchen was quiet prominent. Wouldn't recommend Joseph's as a place to have a great night out for dinner.More
