Breaking down Ravens picks in Matt Miller's 7-round ESPN mock draft

It’s NFL draft season, and after a successful start to the free agent frenzy, Baltimore will look to retool its offensive line while replacing an elite linebacker and stout pass rushers.

Matt Miller released his new 7-round mock draft for ESPN and sent the Ravens reinforcements at several key positions on both sides of the football.

Baltimore landed skill position players from national championship teams with two of their first five picks, plus an offensive guard, running back, linebacker, and defensive tackle depth.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the Ravens’ picks in Miller’s latest mock.

30. Baltimore Ravens Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

Miller has Baltimore going wide receiver with their first round pick in back to back drafts.

With Zay Flowers looking like a true WR1 in his rookie season (77 catches, 858 yards, 5 TDs), the Ravens have to feel good about their developing passing game. But let’s keep building, especially since Rashod Bateman hasn’t emerged and Odell Beckham Jr. is a free agent. McConkey is a precise route runner with 4.39 speed and the stop-start quickness to dominate on underneath routes. Coming off an ankle injury in 2023, McConkey had a really strong Senior Bowl week and dominated his combine workout; he’s a Round 1 target on my board.

Breakdown: McConkey is just as good a route runner as Zay Flowers and would give Baltimore another pass catcher capable of making plays from any position.

62. Baltimore Ravens Mike Sainristil, CB, Michigan

Michigan defensive back Mike Sainristil (0) tackles Washington wide receiver Jalen McMillan (11) during the first half of the national championship game at NRG Stadium in Houston on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.

Miller has Baltimore landing another solid cornerback who can play multiple positions.

How do great football players always fall to the Ravens? Sainristil was a do-it-all defensive back and leader at Michigan, posting six interceptions (two touchdowns). In Baltimore, he would play a nickel role very similar to what Brian Branch did in his rookie season for the Lions.

93. Baltimore Ravens Dominick Puni, G, Kansas

Puni would fall in line with the tradition of nabbing versatile, and physical run blockers.

A college tackle, Puni could battle for the starting left guard spot in camp while also providing insurance across the offensive line as a five-position player.

113. Baltimore Ravens (via DEN/NYJ): Trevin Wallace, LB, Kentucky

Wallace is an explosive athlete who occasionally freelances and does his own thing, which can harm the defense.

130. Baltimore Ravens: Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon

Every team needs a change of pace back, and Irving would provide Baltimore with another explosive dual-threat running back that would allow Keaton Mitchell to fully recover before returning from an ACL injury.

165. Baltimore Ravens: Keith Randolph Jr., DT, Illinois

Randolph Jr. teamed with Jer’Zhan Newton to give Illinois a formidable defensive tackle duo.

A three-time All-Big 10 performer, Randolph Jr. would fit well in Baltimore as a capable run-stuffer.

218. Baltimore Ravens (via NYJ)*: Tylan Grable, OT, Central Florida

Grable is an athletic offensive tackle, who actually played quarterback in high school. Grable transferred to UCF for the 2022 season and started 14 games at left tackle. This past season Grable started 13 games at left tackle.

228. Baltimore Ravens (via NYJ): Evan Williams, S, Oregon

A versatile safety out of Oregon, Williams would bring more versatility to an already stacked secondary.

250. Baltimore Ravens: Zion Tupuola-Fetui, DE, Washington

Tupuola-Fetui is a high-energy player that won’t produce many sacks, but plays with a constant motor.
