The Waterfront Hotel is celebrated for its array of amenities, including clean and expansive rooms with impressive views, alongside indoor and outdoor pools that guests have called out for their enjoyment. While the hotel's central location is a hit for its convenience, the vibrant street life can escalate to a bothersome din for some. The staff generally receives accolades for their cordial and professional service, though there are occasional mentions of less accommodating front desk interactions. Despite the lively atmosphere contributing to noise, the hotel is lauded for its cleanliness and value.

We booked a superior room with sea view. We were given room 901 which had a sea view, but it was kitted out for someone with a disablity. A large shower room with no screens and shelves, the room had no sitting chairs, the desk was very high, and only a small wardrobe to place clothes in. We did not feel this was a superior room, we then asked for a change of room and were given 904. This was definately a superior room, just as the pictures illustrated. The view was excellent from the balcony.
Breakfast was good with all you could resonably want and the tables were cleaned very promptly. We ate in the bar the first night and the resturant the second night. the bar meals were from a set menu as it was the weekend with about three choices in each course. Unfortunately our main course was cold and had to go back to be heated. The restaurant on the second night was a buffet meal. The choice was poor, but the food was OK but again the hot food was only warm. Ate out the third night for more variety and for a hot meal!!
The hotel was very clean.
The location was ideal on Siliema waterfront with a short walk to the ferries to Valetta and Gozo. The hotel was on the main road with frequent buses passing as well as the open top bus. Plenty of bars and restaurants all within short walking distance. There was a building site in front of the hotel which began making a noise from about 7.30am. Not really a problem for us.

This is a nice hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is well located. I only ate breakfast at the hotel but this was fine and there was a good selection of food. Generally the hotel is clean and appears to be well maintained.

The bedroom was spacious and relatively well appointed. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure for the shower was good.

However, the bed I found to be uncomfortable, the pillows and duvet stank of sweat and body odour despite having clean bedding. I did not sleep well. I was staying with 2 work colleagues and they also experienced bedding which smelt of previous occupants body odour, so it was not just my room.

When the room was cleaned after the first night, the coffee, milk and sugar was not replaced, the bottle of water was not replaced (the bottle of water in the room costs €3 - I would expect a free bottle of water each day), and also the towels were not replaced.

For a hotel with 4 stars, I do not expect to have to call and ask for replacements of all of these items and I do not expect the bedding to smell of other people. For these reasons I can only give a rating of 3. Had these items been replaced and had the bedding not smelt so bad I would have given a rating of 5.

Stayed over Christmas and New year and chose this location to be close to transport links to explore the island. The Waterfront hotel met this criteria with bus and ferry links within a few minutes walk.

Booked a front sea view room which had spectacular views over the harbour towards Valetta. I would not have booked an inland facing room at this hotel. The room had a small balcony just big enough to take a small table and 2 chairs. The whole length of the balcony had floor to ceiling windows which gave excellent views without having the doors open.

The room had a seating area with two easy chairs and a small table. The double bed was in fact two singles pushed together, but was comfortable. The storage space consists of shelving units rather than drawers. While there was plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe there were not enough hangers. The hangers were of the type that have circular metal fitted to the pole which stay in place when you remove the wooden part. I would suggest taking extra coathangers with you.

There is a safe in the wardrobe a very small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. One bottle of water is provided free of charge, any extra are chargeable. There were plenty of sockets for charging electrical items. The hotel was kept warm during our stay, with individual thermostats in the bedroom - not that we ever found out how to use it properly!

The bathroom was a good size with an overbath shower. The bath was quite low, but worth bearing in mind if you have mobility issues.

We booked on bed and breakfast which was OK. The coffee was very good, the hot selection was not to our taste and when we first tried it not hot enough and I don't think the scrambled eggs had ever seen an egg. However we were happy to eat from the cold selection of meat, cheese, smoked salmon, fruit and pastries.

The hotel has recently opened a pool and terrace area just across the road by the harbour side. Entry to this is free of charge to hotel guests, just pick up a ticket from reception. It is a lovely place to relax in the sun, although too cold for swimming when we visited. There is an indoor pool and a small sun terrace on the tenth floor, but we thought this area was a bit dismal.

Just before Christmas the management hosted a drinks get together in the lobby bar where we had the pleasure of meeting members of the team we would not normally have come into contact with. A very enjoyable couple of hours.

Without exception the other members of staff we came into contact with were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. And Alex is a one-off - a gem the hotel should make sure they keep. We thoroughly enjoyed our daily chats with him.

Just back from fantastic break, everything was perfect the spacious room with balcony the huge shower, good choice of tv channels. The indoor pool, the gym and jacuzzi and the days at the MedAsia playa lido. The breakfast is really good with a lot of cold and hot items changed daily. The hotel felt very safe too during covid. The level of cleanliness is excellent, moreover there are sanitizer dispensers everywhere, staff wear masks at all times and the breakfast is served from behind a glass screen. Special mention goes to the staff, they are super sweet and friendly while still very professional. Thank you all for your service till next time:)

The hotel itself is very good, friendly staff, great view of the harbour, clean rooms and decent size too.
We were informed that the breakfast would be continental but actually turned out to be fully cooked, so 5 out of 5 for that little surprise and the range and quality was great too. Wee shout out for the extensive range of coffees included with the breakfast.
The downside is location - it’s right next to the harbour which is great but the area itself is full of loud bars (we didn’t hear any of this in our room), and all seemed to be very busy all the time. There is little to no back street bars where you go for a quiet or meal. We ended up going to the other side of Sliema which is far nicer or over to Valletta.
Another double edged sword is the Beach club. The hotel has an indoor pool which is nice enough but not what holidaymakers want. The hotel give out free vouchers for a local beach club, Med Asia, which is 5 minutes by hotel minibus or 20 minute walk. We opted for walking as our experience of the. I I used was that it was 15 minutes late on our first visit. The club is upmarket and we loved it, but you don’t get the flexibility of going to the pool for a couple of hours and then going back again later. I might be a bit picky with that comment as it was very nice indeed - personal choice re not having the pool at the hotel.
The hotel is 10 mins walk from the ferry to Valletta which runs every 30 mins (only takes 5 mins) and is very cheap. Valletta is a fabulous, beautiful and history soaked city. We sent several times, including for dinner and is a must see.
You can judge for yourself whether I’m being fair with the 3 stars or should have been 4. The mark down for me was the range of bars and restaurants in the local area and not having the outdoor pool in the hotel.

Due to an incident I was booked into this hotel while a family member was rushed to hospital. From the moment I checked in i was made to feel very welcome by the front desk staff. The room was very nice and facilities available were more than adequate. In the morning breakfast is available from 7am until 10.30 Monday to Saturday then till 10am on Sunday. The food on display gives you good choices and the staff are very polite and attentive. Housekeeping come round everyday and resupply towels and toiletries. All in all an enjoyable stay. Due to the situation I had I found the front desk staff Marvic and Alex excelled in their roles and helped me with all the queries and questions I had and always enquired how I was, they took the timeto get to know me which I thought showed how much they cared and how professional they were in their roles. I would gladly stay here anytime I visit Malta as the location is right on the harbour front with plenty of places to eat and Valletta a stones throw away. Transport by bus is the way to get around Malta. Thankyou to The Waterfront Hotel.

Being regular diners at the Regatta Restaurant of The Waterfront Hotel in Sliema, my partner and I decided to visit the Lobby Bar for a change together with friends ... and weren't disappointed. The place is very comfortable, stylish, intimate and offers a range of delicious light food, pastries, wine and cocktails at reasonable prices. It was a very enjoyable evening with friends.

The person who made all the difference, though, was the barista & mixologist Jason who served us really well in a very friendly ... yet professional ... manner. It seems that it's easy for him to make customers smile as his humour and charm are lovely. A very sweet man indeed. Keep up the great work.

We both really enjoyed our stay, the view from the hotel, even from the side balconies of the building is really nice, great sight to see the harbour and valetta so close in the distance. Staff are beyond nice, never experienced kindness like that before, will do anything for you. Room was lovely, spacious, very clean, modern, super air con etc (balcony slightly tight, I had to move the table to get around it but once that's done can sit two on it perfectly, personally that stuff doesn't bother me but it's good to let others know). Breakfast had lots of choice, you can ask for as much as you like, again staff are all superb.....it is a great location to get around, bus stops everywhere, ecabs app recommended to get around, so cheap, quick and easy, loads of shops and restaurants nearby, various things are within walking distance. We actually were shocked to realise on the first day the pool wasn't on site, we hadn't looked into it in too much detail, but if you know before going it is no big deal and we got used to it immediately, it's a nice little 15 min walk to get to a nice complex with a variety of pools, one for music, one for kids, one very much for a chill out. Enjoy! I have no doubt you will.

I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights in room 804. I would recommend a room on a high floor with a sea view. The room was a good size, clean and light but the balcony was a bit small. There were lovely views across the harbour towards Valletta. The breakfast room on the third floor was a good size and offered a wide variety of food of good quality. I would like to see BOILING water provided for making tea not just the hot water currently on offer from an urn. The room towels were a disappointment. They were too small and of poor quality. I would recommend you bring a good size bath towel with you or use the towels available by the inside pool which are better than the room towels.

The hotel has an outside heated pool across the road for use by hotel guests. The staff here are very helpful. Food and drinks are available here at reasonable prices.

I would suggest you to look carefully at the service offered by the hop on hop off buses. You will see that you can only leave the buses a few times during a day in order to return to your starting point on the last service of the day. A 7 day Malta bus ticket is much better value.

Finally I was surprised by the lack of a visible presence of any senior managers at the hotel.

We stayed here through Mercury holidays for 10 days on a half board basis. We had a front seaview room with a brilliant view across the harbour. The staff were very helpful , and drinks in the bar were teo for one in happy hour , as were lunch time snacks from the bar. Breakfast was OK if a bit limited with no fresh egg station .Dinner was a buffet in the main restaurant , and was very little used with an average of 12-20 guests other than the Saturday which was a special Malta night with drinks and entertainment. The food was generally over cooked and not hot enough , and rather disappointing. We made up for this by having excellent lunches out all over Malta and Gozo at very reasonable cost. The location is brilliant , with a ferry to Valletta , boat tours , bus station , and the starting point of open top bus tours just up the road.

No, not all rooms have a balcony We did not have a family room, but I am confident the hotel will cater for your requirements. I was told the hotel will arrange access to the Lido. Recommend. All sea and harbour views are perfect. No extra for the pool. Spa treatment is chargeable. No idea if there was tourist tax. Great hotel. Recommend
