Reviews
- My copy list the tracks over 4 sides instead of 3. Has the clock litho on side 4. Anybody else has this? Sounds fantastic too!
- My copy played fine on all the sides and there was no distortion whatsoever...
Everything is identical to this release. Just that my obi clearly states that it's made in Czech instead of Canada. - One thing I did notice with this when I opened it up was how much static was coming off the records for some reason they seemed to have built up alot
- I could tell something was off right from the start as Desolation Row was completely out of balance and most of the following songs had flat and uneven sounds to them. The Times They Are A-Changin' and Hallellujah are just OK. On a side to side comparison on most tracks, I can confidently say Spotify ranks better in most categories, which has been a complete disappointment. Given how many people are reporting the exact same problems, I'd say there's a fair chance most units out there may have at least one defect. Track B3 (Philip Glass) made my ears bleed as it was absolutely unplayable in my case. Such a poor release is unforgivable at this level. I probably won't listen to this ever again.
- My copy of this pressing is OK except for track B3 as discussed under MOS2000's post. The blue Score disc could've sounded better. It's not as dynamic as I expected, and I have to turn up the volume a couple of dB for it to sound at the level that I normally play my records. I got this release mainly for the score, so I'm mildly disappointed.
- I already had the original pressing but I bought this as I wanted the score as well.
Sound is pretty good, I was maybe thinking the score would sound more dynamic. It's amazing music but comes through slightly flat without real separation of the instruments.
On my pressing, the Phillip Glass track is distorted as reported below. Mine's not unlistenable, but it's very disappointing. - B3 "The Philip Glass Ensemble - Pruit Igoe & Prophecies" is nearly unplayable on my copy. Heavy distorsion all over the song.
Tried three different decks by now - chance that all are set up badly or have a worn stylus is very low...will check another in the near future...hope this defect is only on my disc...check it out...not very nice if on all copies... - Really enjoy this release. LOVE the soundtrack. I was a little disappointed to see that my disc 1 of the soundtrack was slightly warped. Still playable, but nonetheless, a little bummed.
Overall it sounds good and Im happy to own it. I just wish warped records weren't such a risk nowadays, especially with colored vinyl. - I was surprised to see about 12 copies at my LRS in the late afternoon given how rare and pricey the first pressing of the soundtrack alone has become.
I haven't spun my copy yet but will compare it to my OG press in an edit.
