Jordan Hoffman Times of Israel These are movies about gorillas who ride horses that feel, at first blush, like kiddie fare. And yet, once you take the step to suspend your disbelief, this is one of the sharpest franchises about the human condition. Sep 26, 2017 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times These are characters. They are also animals, and when they are slain, there's a ghastly novelty to it, one that has long ago worn off the spectacle of dying humans Rated: 4/5 Aug 11, 2017 Full Review K. Austin Collins The Ringer War for the Planet of the Apes is a basic allegory that flirts, dangerously, with becoming an outright social issue drama. Bryan K The end of the Caesar trilogy. This film feels similar to the first one with Caesar helping free his apes again. It ends Caesar’s story in a very satisfying way. The apes fell extremely photo real. It is a bit slow and there wasn’t really a war. More of a small battle. Still it is just an incredible trilogy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review מתן מ This movie was amazing. It felt a bit darker than the other 2 movies but I still prefer the 2nd movie. Caesar had one of the best character arcs I've ever seen. 8.5/10 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Nathan W I really liked, but I cant help being a little disappointed. You know for a movie with "War" in the title... We didn't get much action. Everything still looks amazing! The CGI was even better than the last one, but the story was much slower this time around. I thought the overall plot was less interesting too and there were long stretches where not much was happening. Caesar was just as great as ever and brought new levels of intensity to the role. You could really tell that the weight of responsibility was wearing on him. Woody Harrelson made an okay villain but lets face it... No on can hold a candle to Koba. They also added a goofy comic relief character. Typical for movies from the time, but it felt especially out of place here. Maybe "Dawn" just set the bar too high, but the whole thing felt like a step down. However, despite a few flaws, there was still more than enough visual storytelling, engaging characters, and genuine emotion to keep audiences entertained. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Ben D I have a hot take, this is my favorite of the trilogy. Caesar’s story is wrapped up perfectly. Woody Harrelson does a great job as the villain, even though I thought Koba was better. I didn’t think these movies could get darker but I was wrong it got way darker. But that’s why I like this one more than Dawn, it overall left a bigger impact on me. Caesar has a lot more dialogue in this one too which is why I like it more. Maurice and the hilarious ape played by Steve Zahn are big standouts as well. All characters in this movie are great. This movie blew me away. Can’t wait for Kingdom. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review Eye C The conclusion for “The Legend of Caesar” is overwhelming, the apes are just amazing, their motivations and their sense of community is so emotional. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review Kaj O Fairly straightforward action yarn with good guys versus bad guys in outstanding cgi. Thought provoking it aint. Has all the philosophical depth of Battlefield Earth. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
