Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- John S16 contributionsWalmer Castle is an artillery fort built by Henry VIII and like Deal Castle up the coast is well worth visiting. Visitors cannot explore as much of the lowermost part of the fort as the can at Deal, but the gardens at Walmer make up for it. Well worth a visit.Written 21 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adventurers049Brisbane, Australia3,393 contributionsThe beach has a gentle slope. It is not a sandy beach.
Just behind, there is a great walking track that stretches for miles.Written 29 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The pool isn’t deep more like a splash pool but perfect on a summers day.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The location on the grassy area known as the Strand would require a tractor, and trailer to launch a rescue from there.Written 29 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - frank wChelmsford, UK22 contributionsLoved this place. Small, friendly and welcoming. Good beer, kept well. Great welcome from bar staff. Just a great all round place to sit for a few beers. I love the reasons behind this place being opened.Written 25 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeremy A JEngland, UK1 contributionVisited this delightful little pub a few weeks back and what a lovely experience it was, the young bartender Sophie was extremely pleasant and enthusiatic serving with a smile on her face (refreshing to see these days) whilst being very knowledgeable about each and every one of the beers and was able to guide us on what beers she would recommend to our tastes and she was spot on. The pub itself was clean and a nice environment to enjoy a pint or two in with great prices too! 👍Written 21 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LollipopsbabyMarina Romea, Italy386 contributionsHow lucky were we yesterday to visit this place . We had young and old plus teenagers and we had a lively day at deal . The course may be packed in but a lovely interesting and tricky shots . Lovely water bits . Picnic area but only for food bought there . Nice and clean . My only minus for when it’s busy I would say needs more staff as only 2 staff and they were busy serving food etc . We didn’t wait long to be served but a bit of patience maybe needed high season but they will probably have more staff high season . Look at racing cars on site reasonably price and also paddling pool seasonal though so not open yet . Lovely area and within walking distance to town and so much more .Written 13 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
