Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- GlennA946Whitehaven, UK238 contributionsI paid Segedunum a visit as I had heard good reviews about it and was impressed. I was given half price entry( £ 3.980 as the Roman bath house and one of the galleries was closed, but don't let that put you off as there is plenty to see. In particular I enjoyed the observation tower, which has excellent views over the Tyne and has a section devoted to the history of the neighbouring Swan Hunter shipyard and some of its most famous ships.
However, the main reason to visit Segedenum is to see the exhibits and the recreation of the Roman fort. There are exhibits going back to the pre Roman era, a collection of Roman coins and artifacts and a recreation of the cavalry stables. Also the recreation of the fort is good( this was recreated by volunteers in the nineties), but do be careful as the paths can get muddy in winter.
On the whole Segedenum is a decent museum five minutes walk from Wallsend town centre and the Metro. If you are driving, there is a free car park.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LPM84BrumToonNewcastle upon Tyne, UK342 contributionsGood friendly staff, plenty parking, we're excited for renovations/upgrades, staff always friendly, tee-prices reflect the course so no point complaining if you're expecting Close House standards for Mini Golf prices. Lovely setting and easy access by main roads. Driving range is good and no pressure. Good for group bookings too.Written 1 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Would be great to have some 'cats eye' lights on the aisles to make it easier to get to your seat especially for visually impaired people.Written 19 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
