Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Jenn CaraBirkenhead, UK81 contributionsOh it's so lovely here, only spent a little while after finding this little gem but will be back to look at the art installations because there was so much detail in some of them. Such a lovely place to wander around.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- David SAshbourne, UK555 contributionsVery nice beach. Great for dogs. Need to take care when you visit as zero beach when high tide. Easy free parking right on the sea front.Written 26 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- jackirmicAustinmer, Australia681 contributionsWe are visiting from Australia as a party if 4 adults and a 3 year old. We caught the Mersey explorer ferry to Seacombe which was very convenient for access to Eureka. The tour of the Mersey was an added bonus, it was very informative about what we’re seeing on both sides of the Mersey. Our granddaughter loved the engaging and interactive displays about the body, renewable energy and houses. Surprisingly she didn’t enjoy the Burrow. The magic jar story writing was well done and she enjoyed creating a story with her mum. We spent an hour and a half here and caught the ferry back to Pier One.
What surprised us was the lack of staff engagement as we wandered around, the only exception was in the magic storytelling area.Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Constructed in 1971 this towering ventilation Shaft looks super impressive even from across the River Mersey, a great piece of architecture and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or near the waterfront of the Pier Head.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great lake with many wild birds and our resident swans. Spring is extra special as there are many chicks on the lake. Squirrels can be fed regularly and some are tame enough to eat from your hand. Just a shame that there are so many dogs running free oblivious to their owners commands. Be aware what you are standing in. Such a shame. A little cafe in a lovely sandstone walled garden. A good playground for our little ones.Written 10 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mark B58 contributionsWe had a one night stay in Wallasey, as we were catching the Liverpool ferry the following day. Having not visited the area before, we decided to take a wander with the dog. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Magazines Promenade only a stone’s throw from our accommodation and walked all the way to New Brighton.
The promenade is pedestrianised with a cycle lane and has regular spaced bench seating that offer excellent views of the River Mersey and the endless stream of ferries and cargo vessels. There are several ramps and steps that lead down to beach areas and our dog had a brilliant time dashing up and down, and scraping in the sand.
It’s also lovely to see the many dedicated benches, with some decorated to reflect the lives of those who have passed. What struck me most about the promenade is that there seems to be a real pride in it. I didn’t see any vandalism or graffiti and almost no litter. There were also several ice cream vans, and at the New Brighton end of the promenade, there are various fast food outlets, including traditional fish and chips.
I really hope the promenade is kept in the condition it was when we visited it as it really makes for a very scenic and pleasant place to visit.Written 7 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My children love coming here and even thought it gets busy during half term (expected) the staff will help you find a seat. The only downfall is that there is sometimes teenagers inside the play bit and I wish the staff would advice them to leave as ot did disrupt.my childrens last playWritten 20 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
