The art exhibits were wonderful. But visitors should take time to notice the beauty of the design of the building itself. The sight lines; the natural lighting, the polished white stone walls, the landscaping. A delightful place to visit.

We visited on Thursday evening during the free hours. You will need to reserve a time for entry through the website. I was especially interested in the David Hockney exhibit being shown at this time. It was very well done. There is an attached parking garage which is convenient. We stayed about 1 1/2 hours. The Walker is an attractive building. I would like to return during warmer months to visit the outdoor sculpture garden. I would also be interested in eating at the cafe.

I went with my family to the Walker Art Museum to see the Pacita Abad special exhibit. It was so fantastic! My grown children did not predict that they would find museums interesting, and they LOVED this exhibit, just as I did.

What an exciting, thrilling, imaginative woman Pacita Abad was! I loved her ability to make the viewer see the world in the colorful way she did. She was such a showman too (showing up at her ocean exhibition in scuba gear). My family had fun asking each other to guess which mural in her continent series represented which continent. The Pacita Abad show is at the museum until September 3, 2023.

This was my first-ever visit to the Walker. I found it very accessible by bus as a tourist. The entrance wasn't obvious, nor was the wayfinding in the museum, but maybe that was because it was my first time there. I also thought the gift shop was astonishingly small. That must be temporary. Maybe they are renovating gift shop space.

When an art museum teaches you about an artist new to you, it brings the best-ever sense of discovery. I feel grateful for it years afterwards. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to the success of this museum - especially the curators!

Much more fun than I expected! I have never been to an art gallery and I really liked it. Some parts were boring and we went quite fast but others were incredible and worth a lot of time. Accidentally went on a free day (first Saturday of the month) so will have to go back to support them financially and see the new exhibits.

Our visit luckily coincided with a wonderful David Hockney exhibition which included items such as his ‘fax art’ which is never seen before. His iPad paintings are stunning. The gallery is well lit and well laid out. It’s not particularly large so our visit lasted less than an hour. Worth visiting.

Slightly confusing when you walk in from the underground car park. We worked out the easiest way was to get the elevator to the top floor then walk down through the galleries, going outside on the terrace to look out over the sculpture garden on one floor.
Then very easy to navigate with a good map.
There are some lovely displays, including some Pop Art and we especially enjoyed Liz Larner’s artwork and just hope the walls are still standing!
There was no real ‘wow’ moment that you often get in a gallery or museum but it’s a charming place.

Not my idea at all but I went along with a friend. I think it has been over 20 years since I have been to the Walker Art Center. This visit ended up being a comfortable experience even though I was just a tag along. I did enjoy EP's work and since I was in good company it was a pleasant visit.

Way underrated. It's worth visiting because of its location by the Sculpture Garden. But its got great exhibits - some well known modern artists (Jasper Johns, etc), but also very large special exhibits. I learned about Pacita Abad (see pic), at a wonderful exhibit. Also, a very good restaurant.

If you are going to the Walker Art Center, DO NOT plan on eating there at Cardamom.
The food is overpriced and the selections are not good. Go anywhere, but don't go here. It is really a shame that a lovely facility like the Walker has such a poor restaurant.
