Gmail and VPN services

I will need access to Gmail and would like to consider securing my email interactions if possible. Can anyone update me as to the status of the VPN services. If they are being blocked, I do not want to bother. If there is a VPN service that is reliable, please let me know. I will be traveling from the US. Thanks

if you run your own VPN (with a cheap VPN router at home), they cannot block that.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure if I have the time or know-how to set that up before we leave. Will see what others say and go that route if an inexpensive service purchase seems impossible.

Plenty of commercial VPNs. Just google it. Try to find one with a 30-day free trial. Instal it just before you live.
