What travelers are saying
- AngelaReston, VA9 contributionsSo happy this local gem not only survived the pandemic but came back even better. Clean, comfortable, and modern theatre with at least five films running every day, the best arts films, foreign films, popular films - all first-run. Love to grab a nice cup
of fresh brewed coffee with a friend and sit at one of the cafe tables in the lobby before a show, or take one of their excellent selection of beers and popcorn into the theatre. The mobile app (Cinema Arts) is complete with previews and ticket purchasing. Miss seeing the owner around. Hope all is well.Written January 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Auditorium was nice with reclinable seatsWritten October 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PrincessWashington DC, DC215 contributionsUnique modern theater, lit by a beautiful hanging chandelier and surrounded by large floor to ceiling windows.
Nice restrooms.
Understated glamour.
Seats are on the smaller side though since it's not adjustable.
Right outside is a Target and a small park. Easy to find places to leave one's car.Written February 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brenda Smoneta, United States5 contributionsI love this theater, wonderful seat and great concessions. I think the entry fee is a little high for senior with young grandchildren. But it was a treat they enjoyed.Written March 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- YesSirMamWash.,D.C.26 contributionsThis gem is now showing 1st run movies. Current rate is 8$. The concessions is affordable, restrooms are clean. Its in the rear of University Mall (which is really a plaza). It’s a neighborhood small theatre house tucked next to a restaurant and a pub. Pleasant, clean, affordable theater without having to pay for extra glitz the large chains have. Kids movies are frequently shown, too.Written March 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wiiildbillReston, VA258 contributionsThis is a nice theater. Sound and picture were good quality, seats comfortable. Parking convenient. There is decent food if you want to go far. I've seen maybe five movies there, and every experience was positive.Written February 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shawn HWashington DC, DC413 contributionsWe came here on a recent trip to see the new animated spider man movie (which we enjoyed more than we expected). The seats were booked and assigned in advance, the recliners were large and comfortable, and the theater was clean. I like the idea of Alamo theaters, and always prefer a more substantial snack and nicer drink with my movie. That said, I always find the Alamo model of staffing and service to be a bit clunky in practice. It works, mostly, but things never seem to be particularly smooth on service. Still, we did get our beers after a bit of a wait. I felt like an idiot for not finding the menus under the tables at first. The screen wasn't anything unusual, but we got to see the movie without any technical issues.Written June 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pallu21Tysons Corner, VA30 contributionsAll the theaters here have reclining seats, so it’s nice and comfortable. 2 downsides: 1. They keep the temperature really low in the winter. 2. The bathrooms are not that clean. They do need to be upgraded/maintained better.Written February 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - S. SchwarzReston, VA112 contributionsNice place, pretty quiet, comfortable theatre, but still lots of sticky stuff on the floor. Needs to do a little better job cleaning the floors. Great movies, very easy to get in to see a movie, rarely crowded even when top movies are there. I have enjoyed myself and the popcorn, candy and soda I have gotten.Written September 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EliteTravellersAshburn, VA2,199 contributionsIts been close to a year since last visiting Regal. Much quieter and sadly had Pepsi rather than coke. Bathrooms still need a bit of cleaning outside. Spacious and staring to see more a and more returning.Written February 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jehenson81Washington DC, DC22,372 contributionsSo my great summer of movies has started all over again and this AMC theater is back to having films before noon (weekdays and on the weekend). They have amazing matinee prices (less than $5) and the comfy, plush, reclining seats. For the last couple weekends, I have been able to find the movies I wanted to see at a time that was perfect. My only complaint is that the theater only opens 15 minutes before the first show of the day. One of the weekends I went, I had to wait in my car for them to open and then rush in to get my ticket, use the restroom and find my seat. By the time I got settled the movie, the previews started. A little more time would be appreciated. I am just thankful I didn't have to wait in the concession line. Overall the staff is friendly, the facilities are clean and they have a good variety of movies and times. I will be here throughout the summer.Written June 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RazzierbMyrtle Beach, SC269 contributionsThis theater has a good balance of number of theaters, theater size, food, drink and screen technology. And, did I mention the best reclinable theater seats in the area. This is a Cinemark theater, so you can download their App and gain access to discounts on food and tickets. Plenty of close parking in a covered garage now that the new parking garage is fully accessible. The only ding I will give these guys is they ripped out all the self-service kiosks that actually worked and replaced them with 2 new ones that have only worked for me 1 time. After repeated failed attempts at the kiosk, I don't even bother these days. I just go line up. Local management knows about the new kiosk problems, but it seems this is a Cinemark decision.Written February 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Erich ReimerWashington DC, DC95 contributionsThe theater is a huge complex with multiple floors and you get that full force upon entering as the atrium opens up to you. It has a huge amount of theaters, showings, and facilities. The negatives however soon become apparent as the small theater rooms and movie screens combine with a looping escalator/elevator system and closed upper floor concession stands to provide just a bit of irritation. The parking garage next to the theater is free with validation. I really feel the facility must have been for a different use in a prior existence, such as a a hotel or convention center. Overall it's an ok theater that services well in a large and dense place like Alexandria city.Written February 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GregLaura SGainesville, VA57 contributionsThis is a fun free family event, the gates opened at 6:00pm. We were in line by 6:10 or 6:15 and were the last car positioned where you could be in direct line with the screen. I drive a Hyundai Santa Fe and they consider that an SUV so we were forced to park in the back in order to prevent blocking smaller cars views. We intended to watch the movie from our car so had we gotten there five minutes later, we would have been directed to a spot where we really couldn't watch the movie. While there was one food truck and a few stands selling food, if we go again, we will probably bring a cooler and pack a picnic lunch. I recommend bringing a blanket and/or chairs even if your preference would be to watch the movie from your vehicle - you might not be able to see the screen from where you park. Overall this was fun and we'd definitely do it again, we'd just be a little more prepared.Written August 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
