Virginia Admiral: American artist, poet, independent publisher and activist whose paintings straddled the fields of abstract and figurative art. Part of the New York School of artists in the 1940s and 1950s, her work was shown Peggy Guggenheim’s Art of This Century Gallery in 1942 and the Venice Biennale in 1947. Her work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
