Product Description
A group of genetically enhanced vipers are on the loose after a break-in at a medical research laboratory. They don't just bite. They eat. Reproducing at a rapid rate, they now outnumber the locals of a nearby remote island who have barricaded themselves in an increasingly vulnerable hotel. With help on its way - or not-- the lone survivors have one chance to stay alive: make it to the shore--and fast.

The photography isn't bad; it looks like somebody got out some kind of movie cameras and left their cell phones in their pockets. And I'd almost swear the sound was processed in an actual sound lab. Editing is smooth, and the special effects are reasonably well done. I've definitely seen worse actors. And--hush my mouth--I think the players may have actually rehearsed.
Unfortunately, that's about all the nice things I can say about 'Vipers'. Because the snakes behave as if they were wild dogs or bears or some such, which is such a departure from reality that it completely killed this movie for me. A horror movie has to have some degree of believability to it, or it fails. So yeah, 'Vipers' fails, big time.
Hearing your toothless uncle talk politics at Thanksgiving dinner might be more intertaining than this.

The plot has the standard government agency screw up which results in a pack of genetically altered, super hyper vicious snakes escaping from the lab. The snakes head to an inhabited island where they proceed to kill the town's people. The survivors hold up in a hotel as the government send in a team to capture one of the specimens and destroy the rest. The snakes don't cooperate and the team and the town's people have to team up to get off the island before the snakes head for the mainland.
There are some surprises thrown in and the occasion shock scene. There is a pretty descent sub-plot involving a romance for the Tara Reid character and the expected betrayal from the government flunkies, overall an average creature feature not the best but not the worst I've seen.
