I'm probably relatively safe for about 10 or so excursions before I need to be worried if I'm about to be written out.

You have to exhibit some self control, go on one adventure, and call it after that. Stick around too long and something bad will happen. Maybe pick up a sports almanac while you're out.

No. I don't need something else to feel inadequate over. Surely the Doctor has better options available.

I don't think the near boundless frontiers of time and space are handicap accessible, so likely no.

I mean, if you travel with the Doctor you'll basically get a lot of almost-therapy and a self confidence boost whether you like it or not.

You'll need some actual therapy once you're done. For all the trauma. But hey, you won't doubt your own abilities anymore.

Depends on which Doctor comes out of the box. If it's 11 or 13 I'm telling them to come back once they regenerate. 9 would be fun but he's a bit too intense so undecided on that one. Would definitely go for a spin with 4, 10/14 and 12.

EDIT: We've only seen him for an episode and a half so we don't know much about him, but 15 also seems like a fun time, so maybe?

Responsibly I'd have to pass so as not to abandon my family. You'd think this would be an issue with a time machine but it always is.

I'd encourage my kids to go however. No matter how dangerous it is, we all die eventually anyway so might as well experience the universe in a way closed off to most people.

I've had this talk with my brother and we both agreed that we would do it in a heartbeat, even if it meant never seeing each other again

The Doctor has shown to mostly not give a shit about their companions making bank from their time-foolery. Also, you typically only get offed if the companion (you) get's too clingy and even then you typically get a happy end. Once your adventure is done, just bounce and don't get too greedy.

I'm definitely saying yes, most of the doctors companions are okish. The risk would be worth the opportunity. Think I'd skip on going with 12 but 11 or 13 would be great.

Nah. Of the ones I remember (Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy), none of them were able to just go back home except Martha. But Martha experienced some of the most traumatizing adventures of them all. Having some dude tell me "I'm so sorry" just 'cause I wanted to travel across spacetime and now I'm trapped on an alien planet or whatever is a mess.

Yeah probably? Time travel is generally pretty damn cool, and having someone with that much experience to guide you in it would be the ideal way. And I'd get to see a lot of pivotal events and save the day in my own way in a few cases most likely. Also I feel like most series suggest there are various non-horrifically dangerous adventures that aren't on screen so there'd be plenty of "let's check out future space Greece!" or whatever where it goes fine. I'd take companion result odds for that I think.

Only real problem might be coming back to normal life after that and nothing feeling exciting or worthwhile after it.
