Food was good, service was attentive. Traditional higher end steakhouse. Nothing mind blowing but you will have a great meal. I received a unsolicited follow up call to ask how my experience was. I called back with feedback. Our first visit as out of town...visitors. We were seated in the front foyer area of the restaurant. While it is cozy and a view of the street, I didn't realize how beautiful and expansive the restaurant was until I used the washroom at the end of the evening. I relayed my feelings that the foyer area wasn't the best seating, as we never really made it into the restaurant itself. All I got back was that I should of requested a different table and that lots of people request those seats. Of 660 photos on trip advisor and the virtual tour on the restaurant website, there isn't one photo of this area. For such a sought out seating area, I find it funny the restaurant itself or the hundreds of guest submitting photos, not one shows this area. I think that says enough. My opinion, try showcasing the beautiful spaces, especially to first time guests rather putting them in the cool foyer seating overlooking Vancouver's homeless while I eat a $300+ meal. Secondly, don't reach out to me unsolicited, then discount my opinion putting it on me that making is seem I I should of know the entire layout of a restaurant even though never even got past the reception desk.More

Not much else to say about this place. I have consumed prime steak all over North America, I have consumed steak at high end restaurants in Italy, France, Texas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Ontario and on and on. I'll take select beef over Black...& Blue "prime" any day. Despite claiming prime, whatever my fiancé and I ate last night was most certainly not prime. No marbling, not tender, far too much gristle, no fat layer across one side of the 14 oz strip, which was also not even close to 14 oz. There is a reason that this restaurant serves their steak with a side of sauce! You need it! My fiancé's 7 oz strip came in two pieces...? No clue what fast one this is place is trying to pull on customers but you should avoid this place like the plague...unless of course you want to become a vegan--then it's the place for you. Canadian prime doesn't come close to American prime but for Canadian prime, Gotham Steakhouse won't disappoint.More

We both really enjoyed our dinner last night! $40 is really a great deal for the quality and portions and it looked like 99% of the patrons ordered the same thing. Everything was well seasoned and my medium rare cut was perfect. Upbeat and attentive...service and lovely wine recommendations. A wonderful Sunday night dinner we'd come back for.More

We started the evening off with appies and drinks on the Roof for happy hour. The carpaccio, oysters and phyllo prawns were all tasty! It was a great start! We had dinner downstairs and our server, Jeffrey, was wonderful! We decided on ordering your platter...special that evening while my daughter had a burger. She said it was amazing. Our disappointment came when our platter came out and most of the 30 oz. steak was well done. We only had about 4 pieces done medium rare as requested. We were told that it’s hard to get such a big steak to the desired medium rare we wanted. We found that an odd explanation because when you are at a steakhouse you would expect the chef to be able to cook the steak to your liking. Or at least told ahead of time that the particular steak cut cannot be cooked a certain way. When you are paying a high price for steak we want it cooked how we enjoy our steak. I can’t say that we will back for dinner, but we would probably come back for appies/drinks during happy hour.More

We splurged on Black + Blue for dinner on our last night in Vancouver. They offer aged steaks in 3 premium categories. We ordered oysters, which were very fresh. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, and sides are extra, but large enough for 2...to share easily. Food and service was excellent. With a bottle of wine, the tab for 2 was over $300 before tip. Definitely a special occasion restaurant.More

From the moment we stepped into the Roof it was magical, the staff had removed tables and added high tops to accommodate our group of 120, the lighting was perfect as we had arranged to serve passed canapés, which were abundant and delicious throughout the...whole night! Our guests were so impressed with the food quality and quantity thrilled with the amount of vegetarian options. The staff were amazing and took care of our every request. I highly recommend this venue for a great party!More

I know the restaurant very well before I moved to Vegas , we all way drop in for their Happy hours and dinner with my girl friends , with well over +45 years in the hospitality ,I am very fussy ,special I am the biggest...steak junkie ,I know my steak from Prime ,choice ,select ,commercial , to utility ! the Black +B is a high end luxurious restaurant ,lovely upscale relax elegant place for dinner ,the restaurant have two different concept ,Rooftop restaurant is more casual and a different set of menu ,the two floor restaurant is more like fine dinning , with signature Steak , great place for dinner ,very happy with the safety plan , hand sanitizer every where ,staff well trained on the covid 19 , plus contactless payment ,and only operating 50 % of capacity , menu not over size , lot to choose from , my business associate order the Prim Rib special (three course ) good value ,she told me it is so juicy (M ) ,my Rib Eye ( MR ) is prefer delicious seasoning not over power the steak ,well done , her husband have the Beef Wellington well prepared just right (M ) the garlic creamed spinach have a lot of flavour , Hostess very friendly ,so nice she got us a booth , so if you want average steak ,this is not the place ,but if you looking for a Prime steak and Prime upscale restaurant ,the Black + Blue is the Place . staff is very professional ! the Black + Blue still my top ten steak house in the N.America .reservation must !More

5 star establishment with exceptional staff. Went to this luxury Vancouver Steakhouse for our Anniversary for the first time. Was greeted by friendly hosts and they eagerly took and hung our jackets. Seating was comfortable and intimate. Food was delicious and high quality, drinks were...creative and well balanced. We were very impressed with our server's knowledge of the menu and cooking practices. She was very professional and cultured in her role. Enjoyed chatting with the Steakhouse GM - Blake C. Blake adds class and charisma to the ambiance of the restaurant. It was a night to remember. We will definitely be back in the future to enjoy this high class venue. It was a great experience.More

Was very very poor! The only good thing about eating here was the waiter he was outstanding. Mussels were so poorly cooked. They insist on the waiting staff to make these salads at the tables so as a result takes away from attending to other...guests. Small tables for two people to sit, felt very cramped. Would not waste money again eating here. I really wish they were able to get the basics correct. Over priced cold food!!More

Aside from the excellent food and having a very solid and strict COVID-19 policy, I keep finding myself coming back because of the high standard of customer service provided by managers Ardi and Jenna. Their attention to detail is second to none and they, along...with the tremendous serving staff and bartenders, consistently conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and strive to make my experience at Black and Blue a memorable one every time I’m there. Whether you’re there for an anniversary, birthday, or just a happy hour beer at the bar, the staff’s goal is to always ensure your experience is special. $5,000 or $20, you will get the same respect and attention to detail from the staff regardless of what your budget is, and to me this speaks to the business model b&b has created and it’s what sets them apart from the rest. You’ll never feel intimidated or out of place coming here, and it’s why I love it. There are many restaurants in Vancouver that offer amazing food, but at b&b you get that AND a dining experience you won’t soon forget. I was in with a couple of friends today (Friday) for their burger and beer special which is well known to be very good value for money. The burger was great and the service was great too. We were looked after by two people (Robyn,...and Lorne), who were very happy considering the circumstances of it being slow due to the corona virus worries. We were offered hand sanitizer on our way out which made us both laugh and be thankful. We will be back!More

So disappointed...Vancouver desperately needs a real steakhouse! After Mortons closed in Vancouver it left a complete void as far as a real steakhouse experience is concerned. Tonight we took friends to B & B. We sat on the roof deck where we surprised to find...a vey limited menu. W@2e ordered a NY Steak, it came and I could not cut through the huge muscle. The creamed spinach was a far cry from other steakhouses, & the mashed potatoes were routine. Twenty minutes later I was finally dining, well after our guests were finished. The replacement Ribeye was a better slab, however, it was a far cry for any mainline US steakhouse. Vancouver is well known for its restaurants, however, wed dont have steakhouse worth visiting.More
