Previous discussion[edit]

The essay-like writing tag was removed by VikSol here [1]. I have to say that this article is as clear an example of essay-like writing as anything I've ever seen on Wikipedia, so it really won't do to remove the tag with the unexplained comment that it is "inappropriate." Discussion with Tropylium, who originally added the tag [2], might prove helpful. BG talk 06:44, 11 October 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Mostly I'm worried about the style "X appears to say that… but on closer reading… which was countered by Y stating that…" Priority 1 should be the current status of Uralic-Yukaghir, not a synopsis of how that status was reached (we could distill the gist of that to a History section). Could perhaps use more wikification too.--Trɔpʏliʊmblah 22:00, 12 October 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I added some recent articles in the "Further reading" -list. If I have time, I maybe will try to add something from them also into the text, but because my english is bad and I am no linguist, it maybe would be easier if someone more fluent in english would do that.--Urjanhai (talk) 10:58, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

This article suffers badly from unsourced and undersourced material, its essay-like style in many paragraphs of the section "Arguments", and a considerable amount of apparent WP:synthesis and WP:original research. User:Florian Blaschke and I will start to cleanup the page, other editors are invited to join with input and critique. –Austronesier (talk) 20:51, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Tropylium: Maybe you can help with your Uralicist expertise. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 04:51, 29 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
