Model House Plot Summary
The film kicks off with Bella, a popular personality, taking a selfie with fans. Tragically, she’s hit by a car and dies shortly after. Bella was working on a major project, and her employer had to bring in Zoe as her replacement. On her first day, Zoe quickly hits it off with Nadia, one of Bella’s colleagues. Zoe’s thrilled about her first big gig, which could launch her modelling career, but things take a turn when she sprains her ankle on day one.
For the time being, the models are staying in a cozy cottage, away from the city buzz, until the shoot wraps up. Compared to professionals like Nadia, Sydney, Trudy, and Karla, Zoe is a newbie to the modeling scene. She doesn’t have a huge following and isn’t even verified on Instagram like the others. Her fellow models suggest that Zoe should show more skin and wear revealing outfits to attract more followers.
Zoe is also chatting with a guy on Instagram who sends her strange National Geographic videos of female mantises devouring their male partners after mating. Nadia, however, suspects that the guy might be catfishing Zoe.
What do the intruders want?
Things take a dark turn when a man and a woman, Thomas, and Annie, storm into the model house armed, intending to rob them. They demand the models’ phones or threaten to shoot. Everyone is taken hostage, but Nadia manages to slip away briefly, but she’s soon captured too. Thomas and Annie aren’t after the models’ valuables but their followers. They plan to set up a donation link on the models’ social media, connected to an untraceable offshore account.
Once they collect a million dollars from the models’ fans, they’ll let them go. Thomas and Annie unlock the models’ phones and set up a donation page, waiting for the money to roll in. While they dream about their future plans once they become millionaires, the models try to figure out the identities of their captors. Tragedy strikes when Annie ends up killing Carla because the latter has been trying to alert her followers about the hostage situation.
Thomas gets scared and wants to leave with the money they’ve collected, but Annie, who also happens to be his girlfriend, convinces him to wait for at least another hour. Steven, Nadia’s ex-boyfriend, arrives at the house and takes Thomas hostage, trying to negotiate for the model’s release. Sadly, before the models can go free, Flip, the leader of the intruders, shoots and kills Steven.
What happens to the models & Zoe?
After Steven’s death, chaos erupts. Sydney catches a glimpse of one of the intruders’ faces and is attacked because of it. Annie, one of the intruders, is also not so lucky, as she is also shot by Nadia while they struggle for the gun. Nadia, Trudy, and Zoe realize that they’re in danger because they’ve seen the kidnappers’ faces and can identify them. Even though Thomas is hesitant, Flip and Annie are ruthless and will do whatever it takes to protect themselves, including shedding more blood.
While Thomas and Flip are occupied in another room, cleaning up the house and disposing of the bodies, the models break free and try to escape. Trudy is killed by Flip and Sydney, and Nadia manages to kill Annie and take Thomas hostage. However, Flip regains control and kills both models but ends up losing an eye in the process. Zoe, meanwhile, escapes to a nearby house and calls the police. As the film approaches its end, Zoe returns to the house.
When Flip tries to attack her, Zoe shoots him in the chest thrice, killing him. Thomas, the last of the bunch, confesses to Zoe that he was just a pawn and that Annie and Flip were the real masterminds. Thomas also reveals to Zoe that it was Annie who had been messaging her using a fake identity.
Nonetheless, Zoe decides not to release Thomas, and soon, the whole place is surrounded by cops. However, it’s revealed that Annie isn’t dead, and she manages to escape before the cops can catch her.
