I had a really good time at UofL! But, being from the class of 2020, starting as a freshman during COVID was very difficult. It definitely made the campus life and student life overall very different and didn't allow for me to get to know many other people. Then, when things began opening back up again, it got way better and since then I have really enjoyed my experience.
University of Louisville is a very clean campus, that is thoughtfully cared for. It is also a smoke-free campus which was very important to me when searching for a university. They offer great areas of study, exceptional housing, food choices for all diets, and more. There are countless opportunities to get involved on campus, for example becoming an SOSer, whose job is to show incoming students around their new school. You can also get involved by going greek, UofL offers many sororities and fraternities to join and get involved with. I love that the campus is not super large, but not super small. The farthest walk is about 10 minutes tops which is very convenient. One unfortunate thing about the campus is that there is a designated area for protesting right in the middle of campus, and sometimes the things being protested can be very hateful, but even then the students are amazing and are always there for each other.
Attending University of Louisville has been a whirlwind of events. From joining a sorority to joining calculus study groups, I have been able to settle into University of Louisville quite nicely. University of Louisville has allowed me to make new friends and get out of my comfort zone by making new connections. I have never met professors who actually care about my success before, and it has been quite refreshing.
