Student lawyers in the Law Clinic represent indigent clients on various matters. We offer an Exchange Program with Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) in Vienna, Austria. We have approximately 15 externship programs, including: Department of Public Advocacy; Innocence Project; Childrens Law Center; KY Energy & Environment Cabinet; and UK HealthCare Risk Management Office.

Students compete in competitions, including National Moot Court, National Trial Advocacy, Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court, National BLSA Mock Trial, Employee Benefits Moot Court, and KMK's Diversity Case Competition. Students also receive recognition for voluntarily completing 50 hours of pro bono in law school.

Our Law Building received national recognition for building expansion design. The 2019 new construction increased square footage by 26% for teaching, learning, collaboration, research, practical skills training and co-curricular programming. Two courtrooms, double the number of classrooms and library with triple the number of group study rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
