At UCL we know that students choose to enter graduate study for a myriad of reasons and we are deeply committed to supporting our student’s aspirations and enhancing their skills and employability. 

UCL Careers Service helps students to find their perfect career, develop their professional skills or start their own business through one-to-one guidance and events, as well as a variety of career information. 

Recruitment and networking events help students improve their knowledge of a particular industry sector and specific employers. For students interested in starting a business, UCL Innovation and Enterprise gives expert advice and practical support, as well as networking opportunities.  

Academic Excellence  

UCL is 9th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2024, and was awarded the University of the Year 2024 by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. There have been 30 Nobel laureates among UCL’s former staff and students; a winner in every decade since the prize started.   We were the first university in England to welcome women to university education and the first university in England to welcome students of any religion or social background.  
We retained a leading position in third Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), and in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023 (TEF) UCL was awarded Gold for Student Outcomes, Silver for Student Experience, with an overall rating of Silver.

World-Leading Research University 

At the very heart of UCL’s mission is our research. We were rated second in the UK for research power in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021). 
There are more than 700 postgraduate research and taught degree options available, as well as teacher training courses in a wide range of academic areas. 
UCL's research-based teaching methodology means that research is integrated into many of our degrees and students have the opportunity to make an original contribution to their field of study. 

There are a number of scholarships available to postgraduate students including our UCL Masters Bursary for UK students and our UCL Global Masters Scholarship for international students. This year UCL has launched 2 new scholarships for postgraduate study. The UCL East London Scholarship supports the ambitions of east Londoners by funding the fees and living costs of all UCL East Master's programmes and select School of Management programmes. The new UCL India Excellence Scholarship aims to enable and encourage Indian students with an outstanding academic record to pursue full-time Master's degree studies at UCL.
