About University of Valladolid

The University of Valladolid is a public university with a long tradition going back almost 800 years, making it one of the oldest universities in the world. It is located in Castilla y León, a region with a rich cultural, natural and cultural heritage and one of the largest regions in Europe. Castile and Leon, known as the cradle of the Spanish language, is made up of nine provinces. The University of Valladolid comprises 4 of them which constitute its four campuses: Palencia, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid.

The University of Valladolid offers a wide variety of degrees in the fields of Science, Humanities, Engineering and Architecture, Health Sciences and Social and Legal Sciences. It has 24 Faculties or Higher Schools where more than 70 Degrees, 64 Masters, 16 joint study programs, double international degrees and has 29 Doctorate Programs. Every year, more than 22,000 students study at the University of Valladolid, and among them, some 1,500 are international students.

In addition to its prestige in terms of teaching, the University of Valladolid is recognized for its research excellence, supporting the knowledge generated in its institutes, centers, groups and laboratories. It has 18 research centres, 12 research institutes and 178 recognised research groups. Its Scientific Park (hyperlink http://www.parquecientificouva.es/) promotes initiatives to encourage entrepreneurship through advice and support for the creation of companies, spin-offs, and provides university students with cooperation opportunities with companies to transfer their work, whether it be scientific developments, prototypes, patents or applied research.
