The School of Communication offers on-site production facilities, equipment as well as proximity to Chicago's media community. Loyola is home to WLUW, a FM radio station, The Phoenix, an award-winning student newspaper, and an extensive internship program. Majors include Multimedia Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Film & Digital Media, Communication Studies and Advocacy & Social Change.

Really liked Loyola Chicago. It checks a lot of boxes and was a best of both worlds for me. It is beautifully right on Lake Michigan. This really makes it feel peaceful and makes the campus feel like you are not in a big city. You can even walk to beaches when the weather is nice! At the same time, the University is technically in the City of Chicago which is such a great city. It's easy to get downtown and to other areas of the city where there is lots to do. The school says that it is the largest Jesuit University, but honestly doesn't feel that big.The school is listed as an R2 research institution and lots of professors write books but it still feels personable -my professors recognized me around campus. Seems like every semester there is an issue with one dorm or another - like a flood or burst pipe, but there's a lot of construction on campus so I think the U is working on that. Basketball games are really fun but would love to see even more social events on or close to campus.
It is an amazing area with a lot of opportunities in a big city. There are small daily annoyances like unresponsive residence life and crappy dining hall food, but overall I've loved my experience at Loyola. Nearby beaches, restaurants, and activities make it the perfect college town in my opinion, there's so much to do you'll never get bored. Professors are similar to any other school. There's some horrible ones, a lot of decent ones, and few amazing ones. Dorm requirement is first 2 years and then apartment hunting can be tough. I've loved my experience so far and I never plan on transferring!
My experience at Loyola University Chicago has been a great one so far! I am a second-year Nursing Student and love my program so far. Some professors are better than others, but that is expected anywhere. Campus life is pretty good. On-campus housing and dining are okay, nothing exceptional. However, the campus is well taken care of and the location is amazing. The Lake Shore campus is perfect, and the surrounding Rogers Park area has so much to do. Water Tower Campus is in the heart of downtown and close to so many dining and shopping locations. Classes are good and organized very well. One of the best parts of campus is the Cudahy Library and Information Commons. There are so many places to study and find resources throughout campus. There are endless amounts of ways to find community on campus. There are many recreational facilities, clubs, events, Greek life, and other community-building spaces. Coming to Loyola has been a great experience overall and I would recommend coming here
