**Continuation of the Preservation of Jazz Music Series: "Tributes" in Detroit, Michigan**

Following the resounding success of last year's Preservation of Jazz Music Series "Tributes," we are thrilled to announce the continuation of the series for the year 2024. This summer, we are proud to present the first installment featuring The Satin Doll Revue member, Nina Simone Neal, in her captivating solo performance, the Dinah Washington Tribute, scheduled for March 11, 2024, at Aretha's Jazz Cafe located at 350 Madison, Detroit, Michigan, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the performance commencing at 7 p.m.

**About the Artist: Nina Simone Neal**

Renowned as an award-winning Detroit R&B vocalist, Nina Simone Neal has embraced the challenge and energy of jazz music. She actively contributes to the Preservation of Jazz by honoring Dinah Washington, a tradition she has upheld for an impressive five years within The Satin Doll Revue.

**Dinah Washington Honors and Inductions**

Dinah Washington, a legendary figure in jazz, has received numerous accolades over the years, showcasing the profound impact of her contributions to the genre. Notable recognitions include:

- "Unforgettable: A Tribute to Dinah Washington," a 1964 album recorded by Aretha Franklin.
- A 29-cent commemorative postage stamp issued by the U.S. Post Office in 1993.
- In 2005, a park in Chicago near Washington's former residence was renamed Dinah Washington Park.
- The section of 30th Avenue between 15th Street and Kaulton Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Washington's birthplace, was renamed "Dinah Washington Avenue" in 2008.
- On August 29, 2013, the former Allen Jemison Hardware building in Tuscaloosa was dedicated as the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center.
