Unai Emery exit admission by ex-Aston Villa employee amid Bayern Munich news
Bryan King believes that a big-money offer from Bayern Munich could still tempt Aston Villa boss Unai Emery despite a recent contract announcement.
The ex-Villa scout feels that interest in Emery will continue to swirl despite the Spaniard agreeing on a contract extension with Aston Villa which will keep him at the club until 2027 (Aston Villa X, 23 April).
According to a report by The Guardian (23 April), Bayern are one of several clubs interested in Emery with Aston Villa’s co-owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, planning further talks over the 52-year-old’s future this summer.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – feels that Emery would be wise to stay put.
“This is a big step for Emery and Villa,” King said.
“There is always going to be an interest from other clubs, but there is no guarantee that Emery would be a success at Bayern Munich for example.
“I think Emery would be wise to stay, and that would benefit Villa, although the money will of course play a major part in this, and Villa will need to keep him happy if Bayern are interested.”

As long as Villa continue to perform in a similar manner, Emery will continue to attract interest from top clubs.
Something such as a contract extension isn’t going to put off the likes of Bayern, and if they were to satisfy Emery’s needs, it would surely be a difficult job for the Villa boss to refuse.
However, he has committed himself to the club for now, and Villa must ensure they do everything in their power to keep him happy.
