In Week 12, we enjoyed LakeFest - a huge week of events and activities that challenged, supported and extended us! Tuesday featured guest speakers, The Ethics Centre sessions, a Spelling Bee and more with LakeIdeas , Wednesday included an amazing wellbeing expo as well as free Yoga sessions on LakeChill , and Thursday was the enormous LakeIdol! We can't wait for next year's LakeFest!

What a way to finish the term! A backyard blitz at the college transformed an outside learning space to a greener and more inviting space.. The job was a community event with students, teachers, Bunnings , the Men's Shed and Rotary all involved. Thanks to all of the volunteers and to the college youth worker Jo-Ann who managed the evnet for the college.
Students may need some additional support to be successful at school, keep in mind that children can express their feelings in many ways.
We encourage you to speak openly with your children about what they are feeling.
As a parent or carer you can help your child with what they’re experiencing:
* Listen to their concerns – let them know you’re there for them and acknowledge how they’re feeling
* Make time to talk – provide an space for them to share their feelings and worries.
* Focus on strengths and hope.

News and About Our School

The ACT Scaling Test is an annual exam for year 12 T students. The results contribute to determining ATARs and a team approach ensures the best outcome for the students. Here are some of the team in 2023. The results will be available in December.

IT students from the college spent several afternoons in training for a three day cyber challenge run by Services Australia. The team learned new skills in cyber security as well as the teamwork needed to apply those skills in the modern workplace.

Welcome to UC Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra (UCSSC Lake Ginninderra). Ginninderra is derived from the Ngunnawal word meaning 'sparkling like the stars' and our college provides students with the skills and enthusiasm for a life of learning, personal growth and improvement.
The College has close associations with all universities in the ACT and higher education links beyond the territory. Our site includes the Academy of Future Skills, the Science Mentors Program ACT, Belconnen Training (RTO), Academic Excellence Program, Sporting Centres of Excellence with links to the Australian Institute of Sport, the only NBA Basketball Academy in the Southern Hemisphere, and we offer a best practice Outdoor Education program. Our alumni include notable community figures in industry, government, research, the Arts and Olympians.
