Tyrone Burwell was born on December 14, 1949, and grew up in Henderson, N.C. After completing his service for the military, Tyrone returned home from Vietnam in 1973, then he moved to Raleigh, N.C., and began his singing career. Tyrone started an R&B group called the Authentiks Unlimited.
In the mid 1980's, Tyrone decided to branch out on his own and pursue a solo career, and, at that time, he recorded his first hit solo production. The first song he recorded, "Those Old Memories" became a hit song.
In 1987, Tyrone was offered a contract with Rock Candy Records of Bronx, N.Y. He continued to climb to the pinnacle of success, and became the lead vocalist for a famous prestigious group of Washington, D.C. called The Winstons. Tyrone was the lead singer for the group for 11 years.
